Slightly easier to use than a crochet hook to pull snags through to the back of a jumper. Only 4 stars because I just wish it was available in a slightly larger size: this is perfectly suited to cotton, but a bit small to be efficient for wool. Okay for an occasional snag, but I had a pretty Christmas jumper which tried to un-knit itself in the wash. This tiny hook worked, but it wasn't as easy as with a larger hook. However, the latch prevents the hook from causing additional snags as you pull it through the jumper, so I persevered, and finally succeeded.

So easy to pull the overlocker thread tail to hide. I was always dread to tidy the overlocker thread tail using a bodkin needle so often just cut short and put a drop of fraycheck glue. With this latch hook, I don't need to leave the tail long for the needle or feel a bit scratch with the glue after it sets.

Does what it is intended to do

They are a valuable tool to have in any repair kit. They don’t fix the pulled thread completely but allow you to pull the thread through to the back of work to avoid any more snags. Love this tool

Great size for repair sadly very delicate

I bought this to finish the ends on my overlocking (serging). It's incredibly tiny. I can't imagine it lasting very long at all. The hook is not much larger than the eye of a needle. It works well enough, but costs easily double what it's worth. Even the handle seems fragile. Instructions on the back are minimal, although I found a video on YouTube. I have no idea how it's supposed to be strung to go around the neck. I'll keep mine next to my overlocker with my tweezers and thread snips.
