A small and easy to setup device with flaws.....
So having bought a new open top car this year ( Abarth 124 Spider ), the only disappointment as with the Mazda MX5 ND it shares the dials with is the speedometer. As with all new cars in the U.K the analogue dials seem to only show numbers in increments of 20 miles per hour with the odd numbers with dashes. Which can be a bit of a pain if driving on 30 or 50 mph roads. So After looking on Amazon came across this device as it claims it can act as a Speedometer and show other things you don’t normally get displayed in a car, such as battery voltage etc...I have now received this item, and on first impressions it’s nicely put together, although a little on the small side. Also to note the display is centred on a small lcd/oled display so it’s not circular like the case.I plugged the supplied ODB2 connector into my ODB2 port in my car and the mini usb connector to the gauge device. After a while of doing some connecting I could manoeuvre through the options with the top button. This does come with instructions, but you can easily work this thing out without the use of them. Also you don’t get much about specific settings, only the options and how to get to them.So to testing. As I’ve explained at the beginning, I bought this to a t as a digital Speedo to help identify 30 mph etc.. speed limits. I connected up the device and held it in place temporarily with some blue tac so not to us the sticky stuff you get on the stand. Set the device to read the speed the car is doing. On driving it’s apparrent this device doesn’t display the speed in real-time. Also the speedo on my analogue speedo compared to what this device shows is way off. For example driving at 40 ( as shown on the analogue speedo) was showing anywhere between 34 and 36 mph. Okay this means that it’s under, but as this connects directly to the cars ECU etc... you would expect the same reading. Also when accelerating the digital output is laggy to keep up. The only thing I see this useful for is the battery and any other displays you want to see, such as water or oil temperature. Not sure how the turbo pressure is measured here either, as there doesn’t appear to be a setting for it. Except for MAP pressure. This may be different for others and it could be my car that’s causing the issues. The other issue I had is with the display brightness. Although I drive a convertible and this thing has a light sensor, in bright light it appears lacking, with the display being very dull. Maybe a setting I missed? But something to consider. I’m afraid no good for me. So I will be sending this back.

Decent and works fine.
Harsh reviews on here and people not reading the manual/playing with menus. It works fine. Also on a 124 spider oddly.Refresh rate is ok, speed readout is decently quick enough for normal road use. Does display mph in the main readout but not if set to mini readout on the main screen.Speed can be adjusted in menu as a percentage offset. So now at 60mph it reads 60mph. Map is simply turbo boost plus 101kpa....howevecer I agree it should show boost in psi.Does what it says and works well. I have mounted it quite nicely by the dials as well.

Works well
Works well with my Toyota Aygo, although does not read average MPG just current.Lots of customisation and size is perfect for my use.May need slight tuning out of the box but is easy to use and works well for me.
