We recently purchased a few beautiful magnolias trees for our side yard. Shortly after planting our trees our neighbor planted some very tall bamboo along the fence line. Bamboo is beautiful and can be a great barrier between yards, HOWEVER it’s very invasive. We were afraid the bamboo roots would eventually choke our magnolia roots. We racked our brains on how to stop the bamboo shoots making their way into our yard without damaging our plants/trees. Ran across this root barrier and our problem has been solved. We dug a trench along the fence line, and sank barrier. The quality, thickness, performance, value and ease of use are top not!!! Wish found this sooner. If you need a root barrier I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this.

I had a leaky basement until I re-did my gutter system and put plastic all around my house, starting with this barrier next to the wall of my house. Needed to re-route the water from my house as much as possible. This worked great. It will last a long time without disintegrating. I then put 6 mil plastic on top of the barrier and then a white tarp on top of the black plastic. The white tarp will help keep the black plastic from deteriorating from the UV rays. I now have a dry basement and no termites so far. They like wet areas, so , it is imperative to keep a foundation DRY!!! By the way, keep your house protected from Termites by using the fluid system that Terminix uses. Termites are a very traumatic experience!

The reason for the 1 star is the false advertisement. The "18inch" roll is only 17.25". The one from home Depot is actually 18". Other than that, it does what it's supposed to. For those worried about it being tough to straighten out once unrolled, yeah, it's thick rigid plastic that has been sitting there rolled up for who knows how long. If you can with it being warm out (I'm in Vegas and did this in May), unroll it. With the rolling side down, lay it in the sun and put some heavy items on the edges and across the length of it for about an hour. The heat will warm it and straighten it out for you. After that, I used painters tape to hold it in place.

Seems to be exactly what I ordered. The quality maybe did seem lightly better than I expected and it was heavier than I expected also.

I ordered this product for obvious reasons- root blocking. The material is thick and of good quality. It arrived in tact and is fairly easy to work with- however, it took over a MONTH to get the product. Originally it was meant to take 2 days... then only part of the order showed up. I then got an email that the other part of the order had been delayed... then another email... and another.. and then an email saying the product was lost. I contacted customer service, they said they would ship it out again... then it was delayed. delayed. delayed. Contacted CS again, they said they'd ship it again... then it was delayed. then lost. It took about 4-5 times of contacting customer service and the seller for me to get my order fulfilled. The product is good, but it was not worth the hassle of trying to receive it. Order elsewhere

The quality of this product is what I have expected. I believe it will work in controlling my running bamboos. Quick delivery.

This purchase was to keep my raspberry canes in one area. Digging the trench to put the plastic barrier in was a lot of work. One year later the raspberry canes grew under it and spread anyway. I re-dug the trench, removed the barrier (and got rid of my invasive raspberry canes). I will reuse it in my garden to keep invasive plants contained. When I dug up the barrier, it was still in great shape.

Pretty robust looking and easy to install once I'd dug the hole, slightly shy on the thickness. Only measured 17 inches wide.
