I have also tried theΒ  DogBones NeckBones Neck Pillow, Medieval Blue ...great for sitting up...not for laying down. The Prosepra iShape provides the perfect support for my neck. I sleep with a firm down pillow (down never is firm actually). One reviewer commented on the hard ends. This doesn't cause me any trouble as I straighten it out almost completely, and I have never found it uncomfortable. Very plush texture and firmness. Very comfortable. I have used mine almost every night for 6 months...I am ordering a replacement as it is not as firm now as I'd like. The fabric has remained almost like new. For the price, I don't mind replacing it. It does have a wire running along its length, which allows you to shape it. But when I use it under my neck it isn't comfortable at all. In fact it hurts a sore spot on one of my neckbones. I assume the pillow is for people who sleep on their back, since I haven't found any way to use it for side-sleeping.Because you can shape it, you can position it around the sides and top of your head and use it to help keep your head from flopping around into awkward positions while you sleep. But that doesn't help with keeping your head from tilting too far forward or back any more than sleeping without a pillow.The ends of the pillow have hard plastic discs inside. I assume this is so the pillow will hold its shape on the ends, but these discs will cut into your neck or shoulders if you happen to shift position onto the ends of the pillow during the night. This limits the way you can use the pillow.
