perfect molds
the molds worked perfectly as a favor for my niece's birthday party. They are flimsy but that is exactly how you need them to be to pop the lollipop out of the mold. I kept them on a cookie sheet to freeze them (outside - very cold this winter so far) and it worked out perfectly. She was having a crafting party, I used paint brushes for the lollipop sticks.

Fun and Easy to Use for Lollipops
Unlike the old aluminum molds I inherited from my mother, these silicone molds don't require the application of mineral oil. The hardened lollipops come out with very little effort. They take a little longer to harden, but I started putting them into the freezer for 10 minutes; that's enough time for them to harden and be ready to remove from the mold and be wrapped.

Beautiful and easy to clean
There wasn't a thing I disliked about these sucker molds. It arrived boxed, 3 pieces of molds with a package of plastic sticks which after having read reviews I just threw out. These are so easy to clean and use. Traditional paper sucker sticks from my local craft store worked just fine. I made 2 batches of suckers, butter rum and root beer, both turned out great. The molds were super easy to clean and the suckers all popped out like a dream. I didn't oil them or spray them. I loved the shape of them, simple with a little old fashioned twist. Perfect for me. My family said there was no way they could do something like this. They were so easy I couldn't imagine why you wouldn't want to try to make your own!!

Thick Results but Easy
These will make THICK lollipops, but that's not a bad thing. You can easily make a 2-side lollipop with these molds, but you will notice they're wider than most factory made lollipops. NO NEED TO USE SPRAY. Why on earth are people spraying their silicone molds? Spray just mucks up the shine - avoid spraying them and they'll pop right out! Never had one stick. It takes a bit of trickery to let the sticks stay put - they will angle a bit so straighten them once your pour your mold.

Here’s the secret
I just started experimenting with making lollipops and the grandkids are thrilled. It’s actually a fun activity with my husband (although he hated the coffee batch, as he hates coffee!). We’re using regular sticks, as we can give them away without concern about having to buy more special sticks. I prefer longer sticks, as they look prettier in a short vase or maybe a mason jar. I found that they don’t NEED to be greased BUT doing so eliminates tiny bubbles, if that’s an issue for you, as it was for me. I used coconut oil, just in case there was any chance of flavor blend. I didn’t notice any. The molds washed clean with no lingering oily feel or scent of coconut. I also asked my dentist about making sugar free lollipops. She recommended xylitol as it will actually discourage tooth decay, and is the least likely to cause GI problems. I’ll need to find a recipe. I used a Lorann prepackaged SF which was easy but not cheap. (Less expensive on their site.) I also discovered that if you make two colors (and/or flavors) you can pour a little bit of a drizzle in the molds and let it cool. Then add the second color/flavor for a fancier look. Do it again on the back side, but find that sweet spot between too hot (when they’ll just melt together) and too cool (when the second one will just sit on top like a weird lump). It can become addictive!

Great for hard candy!
Love these! I have used metal molds for years to make hard candy suckers but these are so much easier. I threw out the plastic sticks and used standard 4” sticks. A hard candy recipe that calls for 2 c sugar, 2/3 c corn syrup, and 3/4 c water, 1 dram flavoring, makes about 30 swirl suckers. They fit in 2 x 3 or 3 x 4 bags perfectly. I used Wilton white white icing color to make them opaque and Lorann flavoring. One batch fills 5 of the 6 sucker molds. No need to spray the molds with cooking spray and they wash up with hot soapy water. I have made about 7 batches so far with great results. I will definitely buy more.
