This is an amazing product! It has a matte finish and is soft and creamy and easy to apply, even on my older eyelids. I dab it on and then blend with a brush and it's perfection!It lasts all day, no need to touch up. I hate sparkly glittery eyeshadow and this is the perfect matte shade!

The caviar color is soft and understated—. I am impressed with its staying power. It is hard to fine—-thank you Amazon for selling this product.

I have purchased several Caviar Sticks over the past few years. I supplement with less expensive shadow sticks but I had preferred the glide and color deposit of Caviar Sticks to less expensive brands. I received Strike a Rose as a gift a few years ago and LOVED IT (it was as special edition color that was in a special packaging and I continued to hunt for it until it was no longer available). I was thrilled when I saw the shade available again and purchased it as well as Forbidden Rose around Thanksgiving with some birthday money. The first point of difference I noted upon opening is the packaging appears to be different than it has been with prior purchases. I’m not certain it is all of the Caviar Sticks or just these particular shades as I have not purchased a stick in a while. Upon closer inspection of Strike a Rose, I realized that the stick itself was not securely in the packaging. When I opened the cap the product fell out of the tube and landed in my bathroom sink. It was still in one piece so I placed it back in the dispenser (as I said earlier I LOVED this shade and didn’t want to return it and figured it was just a fluke). It wasn’t. I opened Forbidden Rose and the same thing happened, exactly the same way it had with the first dispenser. Another difference from prior purchases is that the tubes themselves seemed a little flimsy prior to the repackage. The cap was more difficult to remove from the dispenser and the twist mechanism seemed to be more loose than with previous purchases. I can’t be certain but like everything else there seems to be slightly less product in each dispenser. I also noted that the boxes the dispensers arrived in, while shinier than prior purchases, were open on both dispensers when they were delivered. And the product seemed a little less creamy than before, which may explain why in both dispensers the product either broke away from itself or the dispenser itself (Strike a Rose was released from itself and part of the product had melted into the cap and Forbidden Rose fell out completely from the dispenser). Because I had hunted for these shades I am making do with what appear to be product changes, but at a price point of $33, to say I am disappointed is an understatement. When using each of the products, I no longer put the cap on securely. It’s on, but not snapped shut. I’m always afraid that on a hectic morning of hasty application I’ll have the same experience I had when I opened them for the first time but with less time to put the product back in the dispenser. I had not had the presence of mind to take photos, but they would have appeared almost identical to the ones I have seen that others have shared. I work in the beauty industry and have experienced many product repackages and reformulations. Some are for the better while others fall flat. And for the reasons I have previously stated with my own experiences of the product, I hope these issues will be addressed sooner rather than later. In the meantime I may use this as an opportunity to see what other options are available.

I am very torn on this product. It works just fine, stays on pretty well, more than other brands I've tried, and had minimal creasing. However, for the price the product and packaging feel cheap. The eye shadow stick itself came loose from the holder after the first use. I exchanged it thinking it was just a one off, but the replacement and the second color I bought do the same thing because the stick is much thinner than the holder so there is nothing to secure it. It still works but you have to be careful opening it that it doesn't fall out. Again, for the price I expected better, if it falls out there is no guarantee it will still be usable. I will use it until its gone but I'm still looking for something better. I bought the rose gold shimmer and the au natural/nude. The nude is very very nude, I can tell there is shadow there but if I put nothing else on you can barely tell I'm wearing eye shadow. The rose gold I would say is more gold and less rose.

This eyeshadow goes on very smoothly. The color is just what I wanted and, in fact, had been searching for. I can always trust Laura Mercier products to be of great quality!

I use this to line my water line and to smudge out as eyeliner. I just rub whatever brush I’m using on it. I’ve went through 3, so it’s become a staple. I love the color and it lasts on the eyes all day:)

Used this matte shadow stick for about a week as everyday eyeshadow. The texture feels thick but smooth and gives even coverage without creasing through normal wear. Pros Applies evenly and blends easily Matte finish with solid coverage Stays in place during daily use Feels smooth and comfortable Cons None noted so far Summary Performs reliably with good matte coverage and easy blending. A noticeable improvement in wear compared with previous shimmer sticks from Maybelline and similar brands. I’ll update this review after longer use. Star Rating Rationale: Leaning toward 4–5 stars. It performs consistently and meets expectations for coverage, texture, and wear time. No drawbacks noticed so far.

Arrived broken and damaged.

I ordered a few of these eyeshadow sticks because I liked the colours when applied, although they were very expensive. As other customers have mentioned, I had the same experience when two of the sticks I purchased broke in the tube when I took the top off and the shadow inside flew out and was ruined. Very disappointed, annoyed and feeling ripped off. Expected better from this brand and the high price paid.
