Perfect for my 4K microscope camera
I needed something that would let me stream my microscope camera at its full potential so I could have fun high-quality streaming sessions. Cons: None that I have encountered! Pros: plain and simple all I wanted was 4k input, 4k video output to both computer and to another device, and this card delivers. I get a solid 4K stream in OBS that I can pull from and show off things in their highest details. Seeing a tiny 4mm mineral blown up to razor-sharp clarity on a 43" 4K monitor is something you must see for yourself to appreciate. Look at that Wulfenite. No drivers needed, this was flat-out plug and play thanks to UVC driver compatibility. Not much in the way of latency given it sits on the PCI-E bus. I didn't see any frame lag or if there was it was not noticeable by my sensitive eyes. Image quality is great. It is very simple in functionality, and relies upon your software to do all the fun stuff, making it a very easy piece of hardware to simply install and get to work with. Well worth the money.

Great Quality
Great recording quality and no noticeable latency. I have a 2560x1080 monitor with a Radeon RX 7800 XT and can get 144+ frames on most games and record at 60 fps at the same time through OBS. My only complaint is that sometimes my computer will stop recognizing it, or the pass through will work but it won't be recognized for recording. I don't know if this is caused by a different component or the capture card itself.

Internal vs. External Capture card
We bought an Elgato HD60 X at the beginning of the year so my hubby could start streaming. In October, there was a sale on this item that we could not pass up to test the product. The raw frames alone was a huge difference. 1080p was a game changer and his 1440p captures are so much better now. VRR actually works and registers with select devices. We do recommend making sure your motherboard BIOS is configured for Gen 4 PCIe and not Auto. Compatibility flawless and 4k can record high frames compared to the 30 fps on the Elgato. It's an easy and clean installation and shows a nifty RGB with logo that can be customized. This can also capture true 5.1 and can do so with OBS plug in by AverMedia so the Audio quality is pristine! Overall, internal card wins by a mile for anything captures above 1080p as the Elgato can at least do 120 fps decently for streaming. However this unit has the raw horsepower, features, and aesthetic that any streamer would be looking for.

Forget Elgato, this is the go.
Excellent image quality and audio, no lag and passthrough works perfect. OBS plug-in is a nice touch. For HDMI 2.1, this card is hard to go past especially for the price.

Good capture card
I have been using this capture card to stream and it has been really good. The only downside is the app needed it’s not the greatest and sometimes bugs out for no reason. It’s super easy to install. I have audio through mixer so no issues in that end and the audio syncs well with the display capture with minimal delay.

Reliable quality
The capture card worked as intended out of the box. It has a slightly lower max resolution than the ElGato HD Pro, but at least it works reliably, even when my ElGato HD Pro does not because of power consumption issues with one of my MD drives. ElGato HD Pro = slightly better streaming quality Avermedia HDMI 2.1 = better reliability with slightly less streaming quality.

compatible with switch 2
actually works with a Switch 2 with pass through and voicemeter. Had to replace a old chinese knockoff card since Nintendo put on proprietary audio features on the S2 and used bluetooth audio to headphones before they went out. Tried the other big brand's internal card but the pass through never worked and it only captured like 30% onto their own software. So will be using this Avermedia for a while.

A premium price for a mid tier product
Software is awful, I've had issues with it copying my monitor specs even with testing every setting in the EDID mode. I still can't get it to pass through and perform at 144hz or higher, it keeps everything on your monitor locked to 100hz. When duplicating a monitor and not using pass through it 144hz is achievable but when tabbing in and out of games the aspect ratio is all off, even when using merge and or copy mode within HDMI Compatibility. This causing video glitching and sometimes problems tabbing back into games. They just updated their version of recording software called "Streaming Center" on 2/7/26 and it's causing video recordings to have a black screen after the first 10 seconds. I've submitted a support ticket for that however the damage is already done and I have hours of worthless footage that is only audio now. To be honest, for the price I would expect better software. The specs on paper seem good, however they don't seem to fully work.

The card works great... this is such a random tip, but if you are finding that pass through capture is choppy in obs, you need to search up using that card like its a monitor, and projecting obs to it... lol. but it works great.

Much better than the alternative companies option, if you have the choice get this instead.

Extremamente frustrante.
