Great product

I like it but the dog doesn't as he runs when he hears the spray go! So I may give to an animal charity shop.

This came from USA and so was more costly because of the postage. We bought it as we have been looking for a natural way to fight the fleas. The liquid has a strong smell - I noticed the clove smell, but my husband noticed the peppermint smell more - and it has a very soapy feel. The dogs coats frothed up a bit when this was rubbed in, but dried OK without seeming sticky. The dogs didn't mind the spray and seemed to have no adverse reaction to it. Whilst I was spraying the dogs, I did notice one or two fleas and sprayed the fleas directly, which killed them, but I'm not sure if it was the contents of the spray, or if they just drowned. The next day, on combing the dogs, I noticed one or two fleas and they seemed a bit dopey, so I was able to catch them, but the next day the flea situation was as bad as ever. If I had bought a huge bottle and could have sprayed the dogs every day, this might have cured the flea problem, but I didn't, so it didn't. The contents of the liquid are peppermint oil: 0.3%; clove extract:0.7%; sodium lauryl sulphate:2.7%; and 96.3% is water with sodium benzoate added. This is basically soapy water with some preservative and essential oils added as perfume. The dogs smell nice though.

Product didn't live up to expectation! Fleas still on my dogs. I used all the product and ended up with more fleas, so went back to vet.

We live in an area with a very warm and humid climate, and this summer my dog suddenly started scratching a lot. At first, I thought it was an allergy, but then I noticed tiny black fleas on her. My dog is regularly on Simparica Trio, so I went to the veterinarian to make sure everything was okay. The vet explained that even with Simparica Trio, fleas can still live in the environment and bite, causing itching, even though they don’t pose a serious health risk. She recommended using a natural flea spray before going outside. I bought this Vet’s Best spray on Amazon and started applying it before our walks. I was honestly surprised — my dog stopped scratching almost immediately. The scent is very pleasant and herbal, not strong or irritating at all. I also like that it’s plant-based and safe for dogs. The effect lasts for several hours, which is more than enough for our 1–1.5 hour walks. It has been a great addition to our flea prevention routine, especially during hot summer months.

This tonic is terrific. I could NOT believe how well it worked, especially for a "feel good, all natural, go green" product. I thought it would probably be 'politically correct,' but would lack any real killing power. Wow, was I wrong. It has been said that all drugs are just natural remedies that have been purified, and to some extent, I'm sure that's true. So when you can go straight to the source, why bother with the man-made alternative? This product is nature's finest: it's a simple blend of peppermint oil, clove extract, and sodium laurel sulfate (a soap found in most shampoos). I rubbed it into my dog's hair and skin with a cotton ball (I did not spray it b/c I didn't want the fumes). Maybe working it into her skin really made the difference, I'm not sure since I never tried otherwise. I left it on her about 20 minutes, at which point she was sitting at me feet with her head cocked to one side and a "what did you just do to me" expression on her face. The smell is wonderful, but I could imagine it was over-powering for her, so I decided to rinse her off (even though the directions say nothing about rinsing). Since she's a little Yorkie (oh, yeah, super cutie), I decided to shower her in the upstairs tub that has a detachable shower-head so I could really put a lot of water pressure on the little suckers. I don't know if they were dead, in shock, or just too fumigated to hold on tight, but they rinsed right off and down the drain. She has a short 'puppy cut,' and I worked my fingers into her skin to dislodge any fleas that might still have a strangle hold. All totaled I rinsed about 15 of them down the drain with a scalding hot chaser. Sorry, I give to PETA but fried fleas are NOT animal cruelty :) She has been one happy puppy ever since, and is scratching just a few times a day, instead of every few minutes. I will repeat the treatment next week as well, just to finish them off, but all in all WE are D-E-L-I-G-H-T-E-D with the results. And for the price, and the environmental friendliness, you can't go wrong with this product!
