Husband really liked it. Better than he thought.

I've been looking for a small storage box to keep on the tongue of my utility trailer. Just big enough to hold straps, wheel chocks and a few miscellaneous tools. Being able to lock it is a bonus, and I've always had a preference for black boxes versus chrome.The product arrived very well packed, it was actually a box within a box. Nevertheless I looked it over for signs of damage or material flaws and found none. The rivets were all seated firmly with no noticeable gaps where the side handles, hinges and lock assembly are installed. The lid sat squarely on the box, albeit I wouldn’t stand on it. And a chain keeps the lid from flopping over the back and popping the hinges. The box itself is aluminum and its hardware is steel, Aluminum thickness is the industry standard, neither too thick or thin for its intended purpose.So in all, it seems well made and it will fit my needs nicely. The only change I might make is to replace the foam-rubber seal with a thicker one. I want the box to be water resistant to road spray as I travel, but not water tight, otherwise moisture can build up on the inside and destroy everything .

This storage box is water tight and strong and offers a lot of storage area in a configuration that works better for many applications than the long low truck boxes you usually see. It's well-built. No sharp edges or ragged welds, and the lid seals tight with little effort.The locking mechanism is solid and tight enough to hold the lid down firmly enough to give a full water tight seal. This thing doesn't leak. You have to press down on the lid a bit while closing it to make the latch run more smoothly, and I did put a squirt of WD-40 on it to help it operate easily. Works fine.The box is strong, but as the pictures show, it's not immune to stress. This one was damaged somewhere along the way before it got to me. The packing is not damaged, but there is a significant dent in the side of the box. That tells me something really heavy sat on it for awhile in the warehouse. It doesn't affect the operation of the box, and all of the welds held up fine. But that must have been a pretty serious weight. I stood on top of the box and bounced around a bit, but my 165 pounds didn't create any problem at all. The box has a 30-day return policy, so if yours comes damaged you can send it back for a replacement. I'm keeping this one because it works fine and it's a working box, not a fine furniture piece. No harm, no foul, as they say in basketball. I like this box. I'll be using it to store emergency supplies. It's a keeper.

This is very nice since it's lightweight so it wont add more weight to my truck and at the same time it's nice coz it could hold a good amount of tools and it's very heavy duty and lockable.

At $92.98 (Amazon price at time of review; $95.98 was the Amazon price at time of purchase) this tool box is a bit over-priced. Maybe $10 or so. But I took a chance based on the positive reviews. Now having it hand I regret buying it (Amazon Vine products are discounted, but not free). Disappointed for two reasons.First, safety. If you decide to purchase it, open the box away from where children and pets might go as there was quite a bit of sharp aluminum shavings in the shipping box and tool box. This should have been dealt with at time of box-up. That it was there was a sign that this isn't a serious seller/manufacturer; just box it up and ship it out. For $100 I expect better.Second, the hinge set-up is atrocious. While it's hard to see in the photos, the hinge was assembled to the lid using very long rivets which means when the lid is closed the lid sits back from the box. So that means the rivets that connect the hinge to the box can't lay the hinge flat against the box. Frankly, a horrible bit of assembly. But I'm stuck with it so when I have time I'll be drilling out the rivets and reassembling it the correct way.These two oversights ruin what is otherwise a nice tool box. Without these two issues I could see a solid 4-star rating. Maybe even 5 stars. But I have to rate what I have in hand (I will try to see if I can get a replacement shipped...).At this point, the best I can do is...2 stars.

This is a strong rugged metal tool box. I got it for the bed of my pickup truck. It comes with fold-down metal handles at each end, a latch with lock on the front, and inner support rods for the top – nice touch. You get 2 keys.The lid has a lip that goes down over the box, keeping rain and other weather out (and stopping anyone from trying to pry it open with a screwdriver, not so by-the-way).This is a practical and good looking tool box. I like that it is made of aluminum so its reasonably lightweight.

Very nice sturdy tool box with two keys. My biggest reason for ordering this was for waterproof purposes to sit in the back of my pickup, and it did not disappoint. Would recommend.
