Fast, Reliable and Excellent Value
The fanxiang 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD is fantastic. Installation was straightforward, and it fits perfectly in my laptop/PC’s M.2 slot. The read and write speeds are impressive, reaching up to 3200MB/s, which makes booting up, loading applications, and transferring files noticeably quicker. The included graphite cooling pad helps keep the SSD cool under load, which is a nice bonus. It feels well-built and reliable, and the 512GB capacity is plenty for everyday use or as a system drive. Overall, a high-performance SSD that offers excellent speed and value. Highly recommended for anyone upgrading their storage.

So far, so good.
I've always seen cheap hard drives as false economy. Past experience says they always die without warning, prematurely, and will invariably scramble your data when they do. I only bought this to put in a PC so I could access data locally that I've already got stored on multiple other PC's. It was purely so I didn't need to turn on a second PC just to use this data, so I wasn't about to lose sleep if it died unexpectedly, and it didn't feel worth paying a premium for a "Known Brand" just for this minor extra convenience. So far the PC it's in has been running almost 24/7 for about 3 months without a hitch. When I first installed this drive I dumped about 1.5TB of data on it in one go, and because I was curious I had "Crystal Disk info" running so I could see the drives temperature, speed, and any errors. It handled that fine. It's not the quickest drive out there, but it'll be perfectly adequate for even 99% of gamers. The transfer speeds and running temperature seem about comparable to most of the more expensive mid range name brand M.2 drives I have, and as of 10 minutes ago when I just ran a health scan on it, it's not showing any errors. It's still (Hopefully) early days, but so far it's worked flawlessly, and if it's still working as expected in another 9 months I'll most likely be looking towards Fanxiang when I update a couple of my other PC's. So as the title says, so far, so good. Edit - This drive's now just a few days away from having been almost constantly powered up for a whole year. I ran another Crystal Disk check on it and there's little changed since the last time I ran it 8 or so months back. The reallocated sector count is still 0, and the idle temperature is just a little up on last time (but the house is pretty warm today, so that's probably why). I've been so impressed with this drive that when the 4tb Fanxiang M.2 drive went on sale a few months back I grabbed one to run games from on my budget gaming PC. Both these M.2 drives have mixed reviews, but from my personal experience they seem fine. I may have just been incredibly lucky with the two I've bought, and maybe 50% of their units are faulty, but I can only comment on what I've seen myself, and this is that they seem to be a pretty solid budget option.

good value-for-money choice
The Fanxiang 512GB M.2 PCIe Gen3.0 SSD offers solid performance at a budget-friendly price, making it a good option for everyday users and casual gamers. Installation is straightforward, and it works seamlessly with most modern desktops and laptops that support NVMe M.2 drives. In daily use, the drive feels fast and responsive. Boot times are noticeably quicker compared to traditional SATA SSDs, and applications load smoothly. For general tasks like web browsing, office work, and light gaming, performance is more than adequate. File transfers are also reasonably quick, especially for a Gen3.0 drive in this price range. Build quality is decent, and the drive runs quietly with no noticeable overheating during normal use. While it may not match the sustained speeds or advanced features of high-end Gen4 SSDs, it performs reliably for its intended purpose. The 512GB capacity is suitable for an operating system, essential software, and a fair number of games or files. Overall, the Fanxiang M.2 SSD 512GB PCIe Gen3.0 is a good value-for-money choice. It’s ideal for users looking to upgrade from an HDD or SATA SSD without spending too much, offering a nice balance between performance, capacity, and cost.

Cool and low power consumption for Pi5.
Got this drive because it was the cheapest drive on the "works with a Raspberry Pi5" list. It does. No problems with power consumption, nor overheating. Uses a Realtek controller which is pretty old, but that makes it compatible with the Pi5 - faster and newer controllers aren't so good.

This SSD won't last long :(
irregular ssd usage (as shown in image) even during simple tasks such as browsing. i sometimes encounter freezing even when just opening or interacting with apps, playing games or video editing. worst case scenario my pc would freeze for up to a minute. i have a feeling that this ssd will soon die and it hasn't even been a full year with this ssd. (i purchased it on 24 dec 2024). i noticed this problem a while ago but didn't fully acknowledge it until recently. i checked the reviews and found that other people had similar issues and their ssd eventually died causing them to lose their data. i am fortunate enough to detect that this ssd is dying but in another customers case, they may wake up and lose all their data. luckily i can transfer my data to a better more notable branded ssd like samsung or corsair, please dont try cheap out by buying this cheap ssd as you'll just spend more in the long run by having to buy another once it fails. :( EDIT: September 12th the drive has become so unstable after one attempt to clone to my new samsung drive. it couldn’t handle running the operating system so i had to take it out and extract data from it manually by using an enclosure. DO NOT BUT THIS DRIVE PLEASE! unless you’re using it to store trivial things because it will die on you faster than any other ssd should.
