I needed to replace a leaky waste on my porcelain kitchen sink, but the new waste (that I bought at a well-known hardware shop) came with an overflow that was designed for a thin stainless steel sink, so it wasn't able to reach through the hole in my sink. The hardware shop didn't have a part that would solve the problem, but this product has solved it for me. This product is supplied with a 35mm long M5 countersunk bolt, which wasn't quite long enough to reach through the hole in my sink, but it was easy to buy some 40mm bolts. The diameter of the outlet is 20mm which perfectly matches the flexible hose that came with my sink waste. I've also discovered that it fits nicely into the end of some 25mm uPVC conduit if (like me) you prefer to use pipe rather than flexible hose.

I was delighted to receive the two plugs so quickly, but on opening the packaging I found one plug badly marked and with the finishing coat partially ripped - see photo. Luckily I only needed one and the second one was perfect. Good marks for speed of delivery, but poor marks for quality control. 5/10

Decent quality and a bargain

What can I say, I was very happy. I thought I may have to wait for hubby to get around to fitting. But I did it, it was so easy. I pulled off the broken end, pushed this new one on at the same angle fed it up and put a sprung behind it to hold it in place whilst I got a few turns on the screw. Popped rubber through and tightened up. Overflow working again at a goid price and still have a space one. Happy days.

The gasket provided is way too stiff and it is impossible to form a tight seal. So it leaks. And not just a drip, more like a steady stream. Absolute failure.
