Always aim for the middle!
Yes, these are basically plastic re-breakable boards. They work well enough. They are a little clumsy because you have to hit it in the middle to break the board. Unfortunately, with these plastic boards you are have a increased risk of hurting yourself if you do not hit the board correctly, that is to say, in the center. These boards do have a slight home padding on them which is very nice! The colors are nice so that you know what you're kicking/hitting. The thinner yellow board wears out fairly quickly, which is to be expected considering it is a thinner board. Simply put, less material wears out easily. I have no complaints about these boards, but would recommend a little bit of caution as they tend to cause the occasional injury. But then again, we are in martial arts. Injuries are expected, right?pilsung!

Karate practice
My karate loving son has been so happy with the unbreakable boards. They slide together so easily yet are actually very difficult to punch or kick apart! I felt it was a cheap gift for him for Christmas and am so surprised at the quality! He has been having so much fun trying to find ways to break the boards with his brother. Great for practice or just play time.

Great
Great until you've done it too many times and it stays broken. I'm not sure if the wear is preventable other than just using it sparingly but its great for the first bit of use.

Boards don't hit back!
Okay, I haven't broken a board in 20 yeara and when I last did it was a real wood board because we didn't have thw fancy rebreakable boards, so when we did it it was for testing, not for routine training. I bought this not knowing if I was about to break my hand from a couple decades of lapsed time. We'll, the ranked system works. I started out with a yellow by dropping it and punching it on thw way down, it broke on thw first try, much to my surprise. The blue requirs some support, and so far thw red and black are beyond me, but thw confidence I am building is worth ten times as much.

Need Instructions
These boards are nice but some what challenging to put back together after breaking. They could use better instructions to come with them about how tp put them back securely for the next break to save time.

Slides together/ not good for beginners (bought yellow)
If I could return it I would, but it requires the original packaging. I bought the yellow for easy training of a child who has broken this level before. I found it required a very specific placement and adult strength kick to break, not at all appropriate for the intended purpose and not as the product was described. After talking to the karate instructor, I now know it is the type of board and these are not good for beginners and probably not accurately labeled for level; that the slide on kind only works in a very specific way and that I should be looking for one that doesn't slide together. I hope this helps someone buy the most appropriate level and style for their needs.
