Worked great, and the wrench had TWO useful ends, one for the Torx, and one for the weird European star thing bolts. Hardest part is getting the panels off, and I recommend getting a pry kit for cars. That helped wonders.

This was a perfect fit and easy install for a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen. I liked that the took came with it, which meant I didn't have to buy anything else. No instructions come with the item but it's as easy as unbolting the old one and then bolting this one in it's place, after you pull off the door trim, which is also fairly easy. Videos online will show you how it's done. Even if you don't think you are mechanically inclined, try replacing this part yourself. You'll find it's an easy and satisfying job.

It's a perfect replacement for the OEM latch mechanism for 1/3 the cost. I bought this because it comes with the tool to unscrew the necessary bolts. Don't need additional tools except for a flathead screwdriver or pry tool to gain access to the first couple of bolts. Hopefully it will last! Just make sure that there's someone to assist you to gain access to the faulty part. UPDATE: As of January 30, 2026 the part is still working well.

Easy install! Glad it came with the tool for both bolts. Just be careful pulling off the panel not to break tabs. I think that was the hardest part of installation product work as expected.

After 10 years my original factory latch gave out and I replaced it with this one. Better than the factory latch, smoother.
