Japanese Automatic/Hind-Winding 40mm Diver Style Watch with Sapphire Crystal

Absolutely gorgeous salmon dial. Punches so far above its weight class in terms of fit and finish as well as quality of the in-house movement. Smooth and quiet rotor and probably the nicest feeling, most satisfying click bezel you'll find in a dive watch at this price point. The "Mako 40" line of Orient divers are far and away the best value-for-money dive watches going right now in my opinion.

Some critique this watch on the technical specs but if you wear it as a ‘fashion’ watch (everyday) it is GREAT! Mine is a little fast but nothing crazy. I have it on a nato strap and I love it! I can’t stop looking at it. The lume is probably sub par but honestly I’m not looking at the watch in total darkness. And if I’m picky I would have liked crown guards in the design. But It feels substantial and great value for the money.

I love the watch. The dial isn’t a true white it is very metallic so it soaks up color from everything around it. That makes swapping straps a lot of fun which is good because the stock bracelet leaves a lot to be desired. The luminescent indices aren’t very good either which is inconvenient because I work nights. Overall looks good and keeps time good.

Beautiful watch! Keeps great accurate time, looks great on the wrist and love the Orient brand. This is my second Orient this year and will definitely add more to my collection. Do not hesitate to buy this piece, promise you will not regret buying.

I really wanted to love this watch and there are many things about it that I did enjoy. I loved the case diameter and the look of the dial. However, at ~165g weight and 12.8mm thick, the watch watch was a bit of a wrist monster for its 40mm case diameter. As many other reviews have noted, the bracelet is very poor quality. It took me a little bit to get the sizing right, but once I did, I really couldn't get the watch comfortable on my wrist. It would build up a lot of heat and sweat under the bracelet. Unfortunately, I had to send it back. I did order the Mako solar variant primarily for the reduced weight and thickness. If you don't mind a little wrist presence, this can be a great budget diver option.

I I really love this timepiece. It came to me as described. It has a sapphire crystal and it is 20 bar water resistant. Overall build quality is 9.5/10. The lume on it is kinda okay, but it’s not like the Citizen Promaster level of lume. It’s a great watch for its price, and that’s what matters the most. I would recommend this watch. Orient does make quality products, and this watch is my second purchase from them.

Sono molto soddisfatto di questo acquisto. È il mio primo orologio automatico Orient e ha superato le aspettative. La riserva di carica è di circa 40 ore — perfetta per l’uso quotidiano. All’inizio ho notato una piccola deviazione nella precisione: tra -10 e +25 secondi al giorno. Tuttavia, dopo circa un mese di utilizzo continuo, l’orologio si è stabilizzato e ora va tra -5 e +10 secondi al giorno — più che accettabile per un automatico in questa fascia di prezzo. L’ho usato anche in acqua (bagno e doccia) e non ho avuto alcun problema: la tenuta è perfetta. L’ho urtato due volte contro il muro — il vetro zaffiro ha resistito senza graffi visibili. Il movimento si carica in entrambe le direzioni, e con un watch winder bastano circa 840 giri al giorno (TPD) per tenerlo carico. Esteticamente è elegante e sobrio — il quadrante bianco ha un aspetto raffinato. Perfetto sia per un look casual sia per l’ufficio. Consigliatissimo.

Es una opinión muy personal, desde que salió este hermoso Orient Mako 40 mm he querido conseguirlo. Es un reloj que te ofrece lo justo por tu dinero, no es muy llamativo y esa es la esencia de este magnífico reloj. Ofrece lo que otros relojes te dan por más precio: cristal de zafiro, remonte manual, corona roscada, resistencia al agua, hackeo del segundero entre otras tantas bondades, todo eso junto en un solo reloj. La complicación de la fecha sin el día es lo que caracteriza a este Mako frente a sus antecesores como el Orient Ray y el Kamasu que sí lo tienen, pero es cuestión de gustos. Es un reloj tanto formal como deportivo que lo convierte en un reloj de uso diario y para eventos especiales vaya que es muy versátil. En cuanto a la precisión es una pasada porque tiene un calibre In House el F672 que es igual o mejor que el NH35 de Seiko. En cuanto al brazalete es lo único en lo que no destaca ya que los eslabones finales son huecos, por lo demás es una excelente pieza. En resumen si eres fan de los relojes y buen conocedor sabrás que es una joya entre tantas que hay en el mercado.
