Q: how does the dz95d mount?

It has a tray that mounts to the bed of the truck just behind the fender well. The tool box then slides over the tray and there is a set screw that holds it in place. The problem is that when this box is full of tools it becomes "top heavy" and will sway side to side with the truck movement. I remedied this by building an angle iron cage of sorts that sits over the top of the box and bolts to the bed around the box which made it very much more stabile. Overall I am pleased now that I have built the additional support however I wouldn't expect that most people would want to go to this trouble so I presume it would work for most people as is intended to be mounted. Be advised however that the metal is thin sheet metal and I would expect over time for this excessive movement to cause wear issues and possible premature failure of the box or mounting hardware

Q: Work on a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500

You can measure the area you want to mount it and see if it would fit. It seems to be generic box. As a side note, I was very unhappy with this box. I needed to remove the drawers to move the box and the ball bearings on two selves sliders fell out. I tried to get replacement sliders with no luck. Poor quality in my opinion!

Should work as long as you can open the bottom drawer above the lip of the storage floor. I installed a regular tool box but had to raise it up an inch off the floor enough to open the drawers
