Kangol Tropic 507 Hat - Deep Springs/XXL Ivy Caps & Flat Caps

I want to note ahead of time, I wear a 7 3/4 size hat in New Era hats and in most fitted hats. I tried the XXL in the 504 since it says 7 3/4 at the beginning of its range. It was too big, not so much in the band area, but in the actual hat part. I could feel parts of it bulging away from my head. I ordered the XL in this 507 and it fits perfect, even though it says it fits up to 7 5/8. So I do believe these run a little big. Keep that in mind if ordering a borderline size like I was. These hats have multiple pluses. They are nice enough to wear with a polo and dress pants. They are casual enough to wear while just hanging around outside. They stop my sunburn head. If shaving your head has one big disadvantage it's the possibility of sunburn. Anyone who shaves their head should own at least one of these hats. I grew up wearing baseball caps nearly all the time, but my wife doesn't like the baseball cap look. She does however love these Kangol hats on me. These hats are very cool (temperature) and are extremely lightweight. The price, especially on all the base colors, is as cheap as most baseball caps. Throw one of these on with a t-shirt and workout pants, then put it back on when you go out to eat with your wife. They really don't clash with any clothing choices, except maybe a suit, but I wouldn't know on that one. You'll know if these style of hats are for you as soon as you put it on. If you're a head-shaver, it will feel just like the first time you shaved your head and you knew that was going to be your hairstyle for the future. I'm going to order several more in different colors. Lastly, it doesn't say waterproof or rain resistant, but it does a nice job of keeping its shape after being rained on. A quick comparison to the 504 ventair model, the Tropic feels more structured, similar to the difference in a high crown baseball cap (507) and a low crown baseball cap (504). The 504 may be a bit cooler and more ventilated, but not by much. I don't know how much of that is just the placebo effect of the venting mesh of the 504. I like the look of the 507 a little more, but this is very much subjective. The 504 feels a lot flatter. Both have shown to be durable, but the 507 handled rain better. I prefer the 507, but will keep the 504 handy for trips to the beach or anywhere overly hot.

I have always loved this style of hat but found it impossible to get one locally. I was a bit skeptical about ordering this but I'm glad I did! I originally bought an XL, which is what the Amazon size chart recommended for my size head (23 1/2") and while I still love it, it feels a bit big. The material is fantastic and I've been wearing it all summer. I'm normally a very hot person and have never been able to wear hats for an extended period of time without getting headaches, and with a normal baseball cap I'll sweat straight through it. These hats however breath extremely well and their comfort is superior. The band inside does an amazing job at soaking up what sweat does accumulate while remaining comfortable all day. The charcoal color is definitely closer to the second set of pictures which is what I was banking on, the first set makes it look like a dark tan but IRL it's straight grey. Being that the 23 1/2" is on the beginning of the XL scale, I decided to buy 3 more hats in different colors in Large and while a little snug at first they definitely look better. After wearing them for a few hours they fit perfectly! I do have a short hair cut so this may not be a big deal if your hairs a bit longer on the sides. That being said, the XL I do have is still comfortable and looks good being that it's black so the gap between the sides of the hat and my head aren't super noticeable so I'm not returning it. I've got the black, charcoal, white and beige and the quality between all of them is top notch. I get compliments all the time and have even gotten my brother to buy 4 of them as well. Can't wait for winter to try the wool ones!

Was looking for a quality Ivy hat that was nice enough to go to events in and cool enough to wear in the summer. When I ordered this Tropic 507 I was afraid it might be too bulky looking, but thankfully it’s not. It is lightweight and while the fabric looks heavy, it is vented to let air flow. It’s made in Taiwan of 75% Polyester & 25% Modacrylic with a Nylon headband. I don’t expect this material to show sweat. The fit is mostly true to size. The headband angles in (as seen in the picture) and stretches to hold unto your head. My head is 58cm and I got a large which is 58cm-59cm. The hat stays in place due to the headband and feels fine, but my wife thought it looked too large. You might consider getting a size down if you are between sizes. This is my second Kangol hat and I highly recommend them!

We live in Florida, which means convertible cars and hot weather. No danger of it blowing off in the wind and the visor works better than the car’s visor for blocking out sun. It is without question the most comfortable hat I own and I have a lot of hats! This is also an excellent golf hat or good for just walking around in 90° heat. Once the temperature drops below 60°, though, I switch to a warmer hat. I like photography and the visor does not get in the way of the camera. I have also used GoPro’s hat clip to attach it to the back of the cap and turned the cap backwards. Makes you look like a geek but, well, GoPro. :) I will probably get a couple more of these in other colors.

very nice 507 for summer! The fit is a little large but its supposed to be. You should'nt expect this to fit like a baseball cap. The larger size lets you wear it backwards or tiltled to the side a bit and still be comfortable. Show some class and have fun wearing it.

My fiancé used to have a Kangol and wanted a replacement that was as close as possible. This hat was that and then some. It fit him perfectly, is super lightweight and breathable, and isn't too hot during the summer in Arkansas. I would recommend this hat for anyone who is wanting something close to a flatcap, but needs something that is lightweight for summer heat.
