This a smooth reel with a good line capacity. I was able to put on 220 yds of 20lb mono. Love the color. would like the retrieve, speed to be a little quicker. It spooled up very easy and even. The only reason for the 4 stars is the clicker is quiet. other than that, it functions well. Was surprise how little of a turn it would lock back after free spool.

It’s a nice reel. I’ve put as much stress as you possibly can on my 40 and it’s still going strong. I just got the 70 and it’s just as nice. It’s got a power handle on it that’s on par with my $20 Abu Garcia power handles which only adds to the value. The 70 is about the same as an Abu Garcia 7000. If you’re used to 6500s, like myself, then I’d suggest a 60. I do wish I would have got a 60 but the error was my end so I can’t knock the reel for it. All in its a great reel for the price and will get you on the water.

For $50 bucks I'm in love. I got the 50 series with power handle. Spooled up about 150 yards of 80lb braid. Caught a 36 inch Musky on about the 15th cast. Reel casts and retrieves great. Drag is perfect for Musky. (18 lbs drag on the 50 series, which is about 25% of the 80lb main line, perfect). Its a joy to use. I think the 60 and bigger would be fine for surf/still/trolling, but the 50 is about all the bigger I would want to be casting constantly for musky. Very happy with my purchase. I'll buy another.......if this one fails, which doesn't seem like it would for years of freshwater use.
