Perfect for Expanding Storage My PS4 was running out of space with all the games I was downloading, so I needed something reliable to expand my storage. This external HDD was exactly what I needed. The 2 TB capacity gives me plenty of space for all my favorite games and more, without worrying about constantly deleting or moving files. Easy Setup and Seamless Integration Setting it up was incredibly easy—just plug it into the USB 3.0 port on the PS4, and it instantly recognizes it. No need for complex installation or software; it was up and running in minutes. Item is great, as described and easy to set up. Just had to go into PS5 settings and format it which was a matter of seconds. Yes, can take a while to copy games to and from the drive especially if they're 75gb - 100gb or more but not the worst problem in the world. For all those claiming it's not compatible with PS5 or that it can only install and run PS4 games from the storage drive, anyone buying or owning a PS5 should be well aware that if they want extra storage which can run PS5 games from storage then you need to be buying internal storage to mount inside your consoles expansion slot. Otherwise it's standard rule apply for PS4 versus PS5 software. Also, the packaging VERY clearly states both that it IS absolutely compatible with PS5 AND that PS5 games will need to be moved into console storage to play them. I cannot understand how anyone could find this external storage to be either incompatible with PS5 games or even complicated to use. It really is 'plug n' play' and in order to store anything on it you need to go through the menu system which prompts you to format it before you can use the storage. So there is nothing in the slightest difficult or that isn't clearly explained via packaging or console instructions and menus. This is a very, very good way to increase PS4 and / or PS5 storage capacity for a very good price. All from a very well-known, very reliable manufacturer of PC and gaming memory and storage drives.

Works for me, but you can’t play PS5 games stored in unless you transfer them back to PS5 memory, but you can play PS4 games that are stored in. Would be great if it would run the PS5 games too.

Not compatible with the PS5 in a way that is useful. PS5 games can’t easily be stored on external drives; by default PS5 games have to be stored on the internal drive — it’s the only storage medium capable of delivering the data at a rate the PS5 requires. You can (apparently) manually move PS5 games over to the external from the game options, but there’s no simple menu option to do this: the option is greyed out in the menu. None of this immediately apparent in the information available about the drive and what I know now I’ve gleamed from Reddit. This is very likely on me, but it felt like a less-than-great product and buying experience, so I returned it (with relative ease). Also, what they mean by a complimentary colour light is a very bright blue that runs around the edge of the drive, which looks naff.

Needed some extra storage for my ps5. This does the job but with a ps5 you need to transfer the save data back to the console to play but with the ps4 you can play direct from the storage which is a bit disappointing

Bij het product staat dat het om een SSD gaat, maar in werkelijkheid gaat het om een HDD! Het artikel wordt verkocht en verstuurt door Amazon, dan denk ik dat zal wel betrouwbaar zijn! Maar niet dus! Voel me behoorlijk opgelicht!

Great storage & super lightweight

funciona perfecto. Hace buen equipo con la PS4 aumentando su capacidad para instalar y jugar desde el disco. Para PS5 solo sirve para guardar los juegos, pues para jugarlos se tienen que traspasar al disco nativo.

Dysk przydatny przy oszczędzaniu miejsca na konsoli PS 5. Aplikacje z PS 4 instalują się i uruchamiają bezpośrednio z dysku Segate. Aplikacje z PS 5 trzeba najpierw przekopiować z powrotem do pamięci konsoli lub na dysk SSD z rozszerzenia. Przykładowo - wykonanie archiwum Baldur Gate 3 o wadze 124 Gb na segate expansion drive trwa około 24 minut.
