Great quality
I get these for my husband's NAS since they're the most reliable brand. We've been using Western Digital for decades now, and this product is no different in terms of quality and durability. It fit right into the NAS and was easy to format. It looks great, doesn't stick out or anything, and was a great price. Definitely will be buying these again.

Perfect for UGREEN DXP4800 Plus
Just received a UGREEN DXP4800 Plus as a gift, and I picked out a pair of these WD Red Pros and they are working like a charm out of the box. These suckers have been smooth! Easy to plug and play right out of the box.

Labeled as WD Red Pro 8TB (WD8005FFBX), but BIOS shows WDC WD60EFRX-68L0BN1 and it FAILED SMART
I ordered 2 WD Red Pro 8TB (WD8005FFBX) drives on sale for $199 each (regular price around $230). One drive arrived with an 8TB WD Red Pro label, but when I installed it, the BIOS/Linux identified it as WDC WD60EFRX-68L0BN1 which is completely different model than what I paid for. On top of that, it failed S.M.A.R.T. immediately (“overall-health FAILED / drive failure expected”), which is unacceptable for anything sold as new. Amazon want me to send it back for refund, now I have to pay full price to reorder with hope to get the real deal. Also, this reflects very bad Western Digital QA, a new drive should not show up as a different model from what it says on its label, and fail SMART out of the box. If you buy, verify the model and SMART health immediately and don’t assume the label is telling the truth.

Reliable NAS drive
I had to replace 4 x 4TB WD Red Pros - they were almost 8 years old, in constant service, and one of them started to show reallocated sectors, so time to go. My only choice for all NAS HDDs, both at home and work are WD Red Pros. They're more expensive, perform well, and rarely if ever fail. I considered switching to Seagate Iron Wolf, but they weren't available, and in the end, the WD Red Pros were about the same price, with known reliability. My one minor gripe, and this likely isn't unique to WD: I appreciate the thought of including drive screws with the drives, but for NAS drives in particular, why did you include screws that have no hope of ever fitting into a NAS, which likely will use hot-swap trays? (Fat, round-head screws). Fortunately, in my case, my NAS (QNAP) came with a plethora of drive screws, including low-profile flat head screws of the correct threading.

8TB and zero bad clusters. 220 MB/s read & write
After a lengthy scan using WD's recommended own Data Lifeguard Diagnostic cluster scan (took several hours), it found 0 bad clusters. Pretty darn good for an 8TB drive. 220 MB/s r&w via CrystalDiskmark. The drive is slightly more noisy than other 5400 rpm drives, but that's to be expected.

One DOA and another possibly on the way after two weeks or so.
Bought 5 of these for a new Synology DS1525+. On the initial installation, once of the drives was DOA and would not power up. Returned that one and got the replacement. All seemed good for a week or so after put into production, but then another drive started giving power failure alerts in the Synology. After reviewing the forums, the general consensus was to replace that drive immediately. Returned that drive and bought a replacement. So far so good, but this has tarnished an otherwise stellar record of Western Digital drives for me. Not very confident in their longevity.
