I wanted 8 cups not 12. I don’t use the programmable feature, just turn it on and off. It does shut off after 2 hours. It only takes 6 minutes to make 6 cups. Coffee is hot and taste good. I only use the filter that comes with it. It does give off a lot of steam when finishing making. It is small enough so I just pull the coffee pot out from under the cabinet, no problem.
