my new favorite fire making material. 4oz for the pack. my favorite part is how modular it is, i can use a little, a lot, spread it out, clump it together, and it BURNS! tall hot flames, and surprisingly long if you set up and feed it well. makes fires easy! I'm gonna buy this again once I run out. which will take a while since its so modular I never waste any. Highly recommend.

This stuff is amazing. I soaked it in water and it still was easy to light. I can't imagine not ever having a pack of this stuff in my bag again.

Contrary to what some reviewers are saying, I found that a spark will indeed light it up (see video). I was still able to blow it out, so you will need to protect your baby fire from strong winds (but that's the case with any nascent flame, no matter how it was ignited). But while it is water repellent ("waterproof" as the package claims), I was not able to ignite it after I soaked it with water, so you want to keep it dry. Still going to be a fixture in my survival pack - works way better than magnesium shavings.

Good to carry to help catch a spark and light to help get other tinder going.
