Great Read
This book Gay Days and Rainy Nights is written with an honest and sincere account of the author’s life. Her experience as a missionary kid in Nigeria was very insightful. With complete openness she shares her struggles fitting in to the US culture and trying to please everyone. I read it in one sitting. From the first page my attention was captured. She drew me into her conflict. It is a must read for anyone who struggles with self worth or who knows someone who has inner conflict.

A Story of Redemption
The book ‘Gay Days, Rainy Nights’ is a true account of the author’s struggle for healing and identity. Tammy Webb-Witholt weaves her story with beautiful descriptions of Nigeria and painful narrations of traumas that led to mindset lies becoming part of her life’s weave. I found that Tammy’s vulnerability gently led me to examine my own heart to identify lies adopted as protection from insecurities, wounds, and brokenness. As Tammy shared moments when beliefs were chosen and set, ‘Gay Days, Rainy Nights’ reminded me to see others with greater love, empathy, understanding, and truth. While it is a story of a journey through struggles with sexual identity, it is ultimately a story of God’s love as He pursues a life and leads to healing and true wholeness. I highly recommend this book, especially for those who hope for deep freedom.

Captivating, real,
If you are a preachers kid or a missionary kid you owe it to yourself to read Tammy’s story of pain, abandonment, culture shock, healing and redemption. I read this book completely through in one day and even though I’ve known much of this story (I’ve been friends with Tammy since childhood) looking back gave me a new perspective on many aspects of her story.
