I recently started needle felting. My focus is currently on cats and kittens. That might be because I share my home with 5 cats! (Or is it they share their home with me!!!) The starter kit that I ordered came with a lot of different colors, but I also wanted more colors that would work for making cats and kitties look natural, and I don't know of a lot of purple, blue, green, etc. cats. So I ordered this set and am very pleased with the feel of the wool, the very natural colors to use for animal fur, and the fact that it seems to work very well for needle felting.

This is a decent amount of wool ball assortment for the price. They are not all the same size. Some are smaller than others, but a nice variety in color and size. The colors are really vibrant too. I love that you can pick any different color to match your DIY project. I'm currently using these for diffuser necklaces, but since they were such a good price, I may look for other crafts for them. They do ship from China so they take a bit longer, but it wasn't too bad of a wait. The bag was busted open in the shipping bag, but it was ok and they were all there. I would purchase again for other projects.

I recieved the wool quickly. I was expecting soft wool with a sheen, but these are definitely not morino wool, but are good for felting rough animal fur.

Nice samples of natural-looking colored roving, in shades of brown and gray/black. This is mostly useful for needle-felting; there are not the quantities that would make is good for spinning into yarn. The colors are excellent for use in details of needle-felted critters. Recommended for needle-felters who like to make naturalistic critters!

I'll note that this was my first time working with wool like this, in short curly tufts instead of longer strands, and I found difficulty with it at first. Honestly though I think this wool as a topcoat managed a relatively smooth clean finish without many holes, but it took a lot longer to work it all in so there weren't fuzzy hairs everywhere. Now, to the point I made in the title. There is sooo much debris in this wool. Some colors more than others, but it seemed almost every time I picked up a tuft of wool off the roll I was picking debris out of it before I could use it. I'm no expert; I've only tried a few types of wool, but the amount of debris I was picking out of it was just ridiculous and slowed down the whole process. It irritated me to the point that even with how well the wool smoothed out and how nice it looks I won't be buying from this seller again.

Lovely feel and coloration

Son exactamente lo que esta publicado, mini bolitas de lana (miden como 0.5cm de diametro), buena calidad pero sumamente pequeñas. Si bien la descripcion es explicita y dice tal y como es el producto, las fotos no le hacen justicia y aparentan ser mas grandes de lo que en realidad son.

It doesn't felt up great on its own, but as a top coat, just gently felted on top it's perfect!

I agree the other reviews. This pack has great natural/earth colours (why I got it), but it's a bit rough, and has more debris in it than most wool I've tried. STILL, it does the job. I am mixing it with softer wool to get a variegated effect, so it hasn't bothered me too much. I am happy with my purchase - but will look for softer wool in the future.
