Excited
Latest Update: 5/22/2024 A week ago, today my quail hatched. Of 14 eggs, 12 Hatched. I am not sure what happened with the other eggs that didn't hatch but it seems they just stopped developing. Out of the 12 quail that hatch, 2 passed. I now have 10, very hyper and eating machines of baby quail. lol. I have learned so much so far, such as you're going to want to grind up your quail food a bit more than it comes to help them be able to eat it. I purchased a coffee grinder from Walmart and just processed it all down. They love it and eat a lot each day. My quail are even growing in their wing feathers now which is really interesting to watch. A couple of them were hatched with curled toes...don't freak out if you see this. It could simply be the size of the shell, or even the humidity in your incubator. But I didn't have to do anything special, and their toes straightened right out in a couple days. Over all, I am very satisfied with this seller and the eggs I got. I feel I had a very successful hatch rate. I will more than likely purchase again in the future once I gain my skills a bit more with what I have. Update: May 11th 2024 Today is day 14. So lock down day. Some of my eggs are wiggling and I have also candled all eggs and all 14 eggs have developed properly so far. No dead eggs and no unfertilized. Today I took out the egg turner that turns the eggs every two hours, and I placed paper towel down on the bottom of the incubator and placed all eggs back in, put the humidity to 65, and now we wait. So far so good. Now let's see how many hatches and how many survive the first 48 hours, which is the most important time for baby quail. Will update more to come. (04/27/2024) My eggs arrived all nicely wrapped. I was very careful when removing all the packing stuff so as not to accidentally break them. I checked all eggs, not a single one was damaged. I have them in an incubator that auto turns them every 2 hours. It also has the ability to keep the humidity in the proper zone and an alarm will sound if it goes to much out of range for temp and humidity. I will update when they hatch but so far so good.

The eggs are hatching!!
Here they come! 4 of the 14 were translucent but that ok; can’t predict that. One passed around day 2 or 3 and one more was questionable so I left in the incubator m. So far two have hatched and it was quite exciting for myself and my kids as we have never experienced this before. My apologies for the video being shaky We ended up with two and we’re ok with that. I inspected the last 5 eggs and three had were developed but didn’t make it out and two were “spoiled”eggs. Unfortunately I’m certain my inexperience is to blame, not the company. Had I been more experienced we probably would have had more chicks. These two are doing well though

13/14 Hatched Healthy Happy Huggable!
I only ordered 12. Night 16 around midnight started hatching until about 7pm when 13 hatched. 14th did not grow at all. Physically healthy and happy very friendly and cuddly, a little timid. First egg hatching, but I do have some experience with rodents. I just followed the daily bread guide closely. Eggs arrived on time and by delivery instructions. I let rest for about 7 nights point downwards until incubator came. Eggs looked good and neat, but one appeared to have a pin hole. Might be the 14th egg. Early issues: eggs got wet for a min and humidity was high for 48-72 hrs (new egg Hatcher, $30 12 egg rotating with air flow). Good for price but no door so when I opened quail scattered 2 fell, 1 limped for a while but seemed to recover quickly. I would definitely repurchase. Good eggs. Good Looking hatchling quails. Scored low because of the evil spirits messing everything up. Website pictures are out of focus/synch, people and quail possessed. Literally. All animals in My vicinity are demon possessed. Amazon website does not work in a user friendly pattern. Algorithms are functioning against Me. Opposite would be a good way to describe it. (Evil spirits reprogrammed it.) I would know I’m a mental health specialist and ranking member of church. Most of y’all don’t seem to want to fix the important stuff. After the demons are dealt with and the people who harbor them, I can potentially improve review. But eggs are good, I mean 13/12. 14th was opened on 20th night and was all liquid (they give 2 extra and have a gaurentee). All 13 quail did well initially but died quickly in brooder from cold. 95F Hot spots weren’t enough for the tiny chicks. A few managed to survive and the brooder setup improved. Hottest spot is around 105+ F. They are much happier and healthier. I would recommend a very warm brooder temp. Their flight feathers should be in soon.

Know what you are getting into!!!
Read so you know what you are getting into!! I did not get a great hatch rate BUT i still got 5 birds. What you need to know when doing this is if you ship eggs you are literally shipping embryos that are subjected to turbulence and temperature changes. If you want a large quality better guaranteed you need to find someone local. Ordering off Amazon is for people who can not. This seller ships fast, packaged eggs well , provided a great hatching guide, and has customer service. When you ship eggs it is way more probable to not have a great hatch rate. They are delicate. The birds i did get are healthy and coming on 6 weeks and going strong. Follow the hatching guide.

Satisfied
I only ordered 12 eggs and 14 arrived. I'm very satisfied, even though only 7 quail hatched from the 14 eggs.

Good, Hardy eggs
Our incubator sucked with fluctuating temp and humidity, it was awful. But after 18 days about 10 of the 12 still hatched despite the terrible conditions. We also ordered these during a cold snap and snow storms, but they arrived early, all were fertilized when handled 10/10. These were some hardy eggs and now we have 10 baby quail. Its only a day after the first hatch so hopefully we get all 12. But 10 is a pretty good number if you ask me. Would buy again if we need more!

Raising Quail: A Mixed Hatch with Daily Bread Homestead
While the Daily Bread Homestead Coturnix Quail Fertile Hatching Eggs boast a 5-star rating with several positive reviews, my personal experience was quite different. It's important to share both the positive and negative aspects to provide a balanced perspective. What I Liked: Fast Shipping and Secure Packaging: The eggs arrived promptly and securely packaged with foam padding, minimizing the risk of damage during transit. Apparent Health of Breeding Stock: The seller emphasizes their quail are humanely raised and healthy, which is important for successful hatching. Educational Opportunity: Raising quail eggs can be a fun and educational experience, as highlighted by the seller. My Experience: Low Hatch Rate: Unfortunately, only 6 out of 14 eggs hatched (43%), falling short of the expected results. High Chick Mortality: Sadly, 5 out of the 6 hatched chicks died within hours, leaving only one healthy chick. Unclear Cause: It's impossible to pinpoint the exact cause of the low hatch rate and chick mortality without further information or professional assessment. Overall: While Daily Bread Homestead seems to have a positive reputation and takes pride in their quail and shipping practices, my experience with their hatching eggs was disappointing. It's important to note that individual results may vary, and there are many factors that can influence hatching success. Additional Considerations: Incubation Conditions: Proper incubation temperature, humidity, and ventilation are crucial for successful hatching. Ensure your incubator is functioning correctly and calibrated. Candling: Regularly candling eggs throughout incubation allows you to monitor development and remove infertile or dead eggs. Breeder Reputation: While Daily Bread Homestead emphasizes their healthy breeding stock, consider researching other breeders and comparing reviews before making a purchase. Alternative Sources: Depending on your goals and resources, purchasing pre-hatched chicks or mature quail might be a more reliable option. Remember: Raising animals requires responsibility and proper care. Be prepared to invest time, resources, and knowledge before embarking on this endeavor.

Best Company!!
I wanna start by saying customer service is very quick, pleasant, and helpful. I ran into an issue with shipping and it got solved quickly. I ordered 48 Quail Eggs, I’m very pleased with the packaging, quick shipping. The eggs were packaged amazingly with a nice slip of all the information needed to know. I got a total of 52 as 4 were extra. I broke down my hatch rate in different parts total eggs, order eggs and incubation eggs. My rate was wayyy above 80% for each part. I followed the directions exactly how it said. The egg colors are different patterns which is nice, the size is super cute, and very clean. I ended up hatching 41/45 which puts my hatch rate at a 91%, 41/48 is 85%. So I’m very pleased. They hatched on day 17,18, & 19. I had 3 late bloomers. I am posting this on day 19. I will update on how they turn out. However, I did have a sad day yesterday as I had 2 eggs that had movement but didn’t fully make it out. I ended up hatching twins but they didn’t make it, which made me so sad, but I’m very honored to have experienced that. Overall, I’m very happy to say I’ll be doing business with them again and it’s worth my money! Thank you for inspiring me and being so thoughtful! Update: So I have 38 quail alive at 3 weeks of age. They are blooming and so adorable. My kids love feeding them. I'm still happy with my hatch rate, and the amount I have now. Again, thank you for the amazing hatching experiencing.
