I chose the RUGCEL 4500LB.
After comparing several portable winches in the same category, I chose the RUGCEL 4500LB. It offers a well-balanced combination of price, features, and build quality, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Its biggest advantage is that it doesn’t require permanent installation—just store it in the trunk and take it out whenever needed. This makes it ideal for ATVs, UTVs, boat trailers, and equipment towing. The winch is housed in a durable toolbox, which makes carrying and storage very convenient. The synthetic rope runs smoothly with plenty of pulling power, fully meeting everyday towing needs in real-world use. The accessories are comprehensive, so it’s essentially ready to use right out of the box. Both the wired and wireless remote controls work very well, are easy to operate, and provide a strong sense of safety. Overall, this is a highly practical and reliable portable winch.

Very Handy
This is a great, portable design. Very useful and I highly recommend it. One thing I will fix is that the power cables do not fit snugly. Other than that, great.

It came in handy with alligator hunting, and i must say, it saved my back pulling in an 11ft gator!!!!!

Dissatisfied - missing rope guide
The winch damaged the rope the first time I used it. I discovered that it was because the item was not provided with a rope guide as it is supposed to be. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that every unit has a quality check done so they wouldn't provide me a rope guide. In the end I had to pay for a rope guide that should have been supplied with the winch AND buy a new rope because mine was damaged due to lack of manufacturer shipping with a rope guide. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to use it within the return window or I would have just returned it. Not happy with this customer service or manufacturer.

Great product, worth it!
This thing is versatile and extremely useful. I ordered the cable extensions to run from my truck battery back to the trailer to haul a car up on with it. The remote makes use a breeze. The self contained box makes keeping it all together even easier.

1st Use Case - Wenched Tuck onto Trailer
Product works as described. 1st use was to pull a Ford Ranger onto a U-Haul Xar Hauler double axle trailer. I lined up the trailer with the truck, connected the provided power cables to a 20’ long set of jumper cables to hook up to my F150s battery and then using the power button unreeled the hook and line. I made sure the wench was properly secured to the front of the trailer and began pulling the truck in neutral up onto the trailer. My son steered it while I controlled the wench. 1st use was a success. If I were to critique this product, I would say that the box that houses the winch needs to have more room inside to fit a 30 foot long set of jumper cables to power the wench from the front of a truck to the back where a trailer is… it comes with about 6’ which is way to short and not practical in my 1st use case…

Got the job done without breaking the bank
Paired with proper power this thing pulls well. I first tried it with the LifePo4 battery that another customer said they used and I got about 1 minute of use out of it. After that I hooked it up to my ATV and left it running so the voltage regulator would charge the battery while using the winch, and boy what a difference. Pulled two 35’ x 12” logs across a 30’ creek to get a washed out bridge back into place. Granted it did sound like it was struggling a bit, and the provided rope flattened out and pretty much glued itself to the spool, but it got the job done. With the portable design and included straps, I was able to easily move between trees to mount it in the direction I needed the poles pulled. It will now be used for pulling broken down equipment onto my trailer and to assist in felling trees when I’m alone. Only downside is the loose battery connections on the winch side as another reviewer has mentioned, nothing a couple washes can’t fix though. Easy to transport into the back woods and to operate The wireless remote definitely lived up to its stated 100’ range and operated well. Definitely worth the money.
