Finally, a robovac that actually WORKS!
After a disenchanting experience with an early-model Roomba that got stuck on everything and died after only 3 months--and identical results with 3 other brands of robot vacs--I feel like I've finally found a robovac that works the way a vacuum should. I love my Qrevo S! THE GOOD: 1. Setup was easy once I got comfortable with the idea of allowing the Roborock app to have location access. Apparently, it's only needed for setup because I've since turned it off, and it's still working fine. Camera access is not necessary at all if you don't use the QR code for setup. 2. The vacuum function is very quiet (and mopping is virtually silent). No matter the mode, we can comfortably hold a conversation right next to it. After dinner, we just lift our feet and keep chatting while it sucks up crumbs for us. It's been great! 3. It doesn't bump into or get stuck on ANYTHING. As long as you keep the sensors clean, you can pretty much set it and go. I have hardwood flooring, tile, washable area rugs, a regular area rug, a padded rubber mat, high transition strips, and a cat tree with a carpeted base, and this guy can handle all of it. If a cat throws a toy in front of it (or refuses to get out of its way), it'll just go around. In fact, from the very first day, our cats have been completely unphased by our Qrevo S, even when it kicks into a higher suction mode. 4. It doesn't suck up the edges of area rugs. That was a major problem with other brands of robovac, and the curling that resulted became a trip hazard. Not so with the Qrevo! It seems to instinctively know when to lift its little butt to get up onto thicker surfaces, and when to turn down the suction on thin mats, so the edges of all my area rugs are still nice and flat. 5. That first post-vac "slurp" is so satisfying! This is my first robovac with an auto-emptying base, and I'll never go back. I'm not sure if it found a lot of dirt that my regular vac missed, or if it was just inflating the debris bag for the first time, but the "whump" sound delighted me to giggles...because that was the moment I realized I wouldn't have to handle a dustbin. I will never, ever use another vacuum that doesn't empty itself. 6. You can adjust the amount of water the mop uses in each room. This is key when you're mopping hardwood and tile flooring in the same run. 7. You can set the unit to avoid mopping transition strips. We have wooden strips that are pressed in place but not glued or sealed, so this function is super important for us. A word of warning: you have to tell the app where the transition strips are. If you don't, the unit will straddle the strip and attempt to wash it, using the water volume you set for the current floor. So if you're mopping a tile floor that transitions to a wood floor, it will wash your transition strip and several inches of the wood floor with too much water. 8. The mop works with distilled water. We have very hard water, so I was worried about mineral damage, but the unit works great with distilled. 9. It only takes seconds to rinse out the dirty water tank. I had heard horror stories about how funky dirty water tanks can get, but this unit is so easy to dump and rinse after every washing that it hasn't been a problem. THE BAD: 1. The recommended floor cleaner contains tea tree oil, which is highly toxic to cats. There are no other approved cleaning solutions. 2. The mop leaves little pee spots in its path. There aren't very many of them, but there is enough volume in each one to be a potential problem on wood floors if they're left to seep in. 3. The Lidar sensor is so tall that the unit can't fit under most furniture. This is the one and only thing cheap robovacs do better. 4. It doesn't mop all the way to the wall. It does a great job of vacuuming to the edge of the room, but on this model the mop heads don't get all the way there. 5. The mop pads lift up when traveling over area rugs, but not enough. The wet pads will clear thin mats and washable rugs, but will drag across regular rugs, leaving a damp trail behind (and without a cat-safe surfactant at work, it's basically dragging mud across the rug. Ew!) THE UGLY: 1. I'm going to say it again, because it's a legitimate problem: The recommended floor cleaner contains tea tree oil, which is highly toxic to cats. There are no other approved cleaning solutions. There are so many more great things to say about the Qrevo S, but other reviewers have covered those features well enough that they don't need to be said again. Overall, I'm thrilled with my Qrevo S, and I would absolutely recommend it to others. Five stars and two thumbs up!

Impressive robovac that mops and auto cleans itself; significant upgrade to my Roborock Q5+
I have owned a Roborock Q5+ for years and have been happy with it, but when we adopted a dog and manually mopping our hardwood floors became a chore, it was time to upgrade our robovac. I purchased the new Qrevo S when it became available. Roborock has a plethora of different robovac models (too many, in fact), and the Qrevo S isn't their top-of-the-line model by any means. The specs and features seemed impressive compared to my old Q5+: auto mop washing and self-drying (my Q5+ has no mopping feature), 7000Pa suction (my Q5+ is only 2700Pa), obstacle avoidance (which the Q5+ lacks), ultrasonic carpet sensing (not available on the Q5+), quieter operation (63dB vs. 67dB), and new features like the ability to lift the mops by 10mm when encountering carpet and spinning them at 2,000 rpm while cleaning floors. Having never owned a mopping robovac before, I was excited to put this one through its paces. After unboxing (it was very well packaged), I set up the Qrevo S with my existing Roborock app running on my Google Pixel 8 Pro (Android, app version 4.36.10). Upon powering up the Qrevo S and launching the app, it automatically detected the unit and guided me through connecting it to my home Wi-Fi. This, however, is where I ran into an issue: it wouldn’t connect to my home Wi-Fi. It turns out — and this is documented — that the Qrevo S (and most, if not all, of Roborock’s robovac products) doesn’t support 5 GHz Wi-Fi; it only works on 2.4 GHz. In this day and age (it’s almost the year 2025), it's disappointing to find the lack of 5 GHz Wi-Fi support. I had to temporarily disable the 5 GHz radio on my router just to complete the initial Wi-Fi setup. Once completed, I re-enabled 5 GHz on my router, and the Qrevo S continued working fine. It's not a deal breaker, but still annoying nonetheless. Once the unit was connected to my home network, the next step was to map out the home's floor plan via the “quick mapping” feature, where the robovac roams around the house, mapping the layout and rooms. For my home, where the Qrevo S was placed on the first floor, it quickly mapped the floor plan in about 15 minutes. That was quick, compared to my old Q5+. Using the app, you can edit the floor plan by adding, deleting or merging rooms and renaming them, but I found the process somewhat finicky and, at times, frustrating. This isn't a hardware issue but rather a limitation of the app (in this case, Android). There is a certain trick to creating rooms (by adding dividing lines), and sometimes you need to “think outside the box” when placing the dividing lines to separate rooms, which may require multiple attempts. Again, this isn’t a hardware problem, and hopefully the app will improve over time. How did the Qrevo S perform as a robovac? Impressive, especially compared to the Q5+. As mentioned, I’ve never had a robovac with a mop before, and it did a commendable job mopping the hardwood floors and vacuuming carpets. What impressed me most were two features: its ability to automatically stop spinning the mops and slightly raise them when detecting carpets (even high-pile carpets) and its "Reactive Tech" obstacle avoidance technology. The latter was able to detect Murphy’s (our dog) ball/toy in its path, note it on the map/app, and avoid it. I have attached photos as proof. LiDAR-based navigation is standard. The unit also supports multiple floor mappings (up to four floors), but for now, I have it set up for just the main floor. When the robovac finished its cleaning cycle, it automatically found its way back to its multifunctional dock and initiated its docking sequence. Once docked, it began the self-cleaning process: washing and drying the mops, emptying the dustbin (330ml capacity), refilling the water tank on the robovac (80ml capacity) from the clean water bin if needed, and recharging the unit. Summary: Pros: Impressive robovac with automatic self-cleaning, mopping capability, LiDAR-based navigation, and obstacle avoidance. Cons: Only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and editing the floor map in the app can sometimes be frustrating.

I paid $459.99, and I think it is good value for the money.
Navigation & Cleaning: Smart Mapping: I like how it maps out the floorplan. The app is easy to use for setting 'no-go' areas where I don't want it to clean. Thoroughness: It is impressive around furniture. It works its way into every nook and cranny, specifically around dining room chair legs. Carpet Performance: It vacuums in parallel lines, leaving nice, orderly vacuum marks. It also automatically lifts the mop heads when it hits carpet—a great feature. Performance: Suction: It has good suction, though it doesn't always pick up everything on the first pass; sometimes it needs a second trip around. Routine: I have it scheduled to run twice a week at night. The Only Downside: Obstacles: You have to pick up the floor first. If a shoe is left out, it will catch the shoestring in the roller and drag the shoe around.

Received the Roborock Qrevo S and just finished the first run, very quiet and efficient. Unboxing experience is generally intuitive. To connect the station to the power source, on the clean station side it is a bit tricky. You need to wrangle the wire following the pattern on the back to form a loop, otherwise it is hard to directly insert the plug. The robot comes with around 40% of power, and upon connection established, it immediately starts to scan the room and map out the entire floor. The route planning is quite intuitive as it divides the home into several rectangular areas, follow the perimeter then do the zig-zag style of cleaning. It vacuums when detects the carpet, and mops when detects the hardwood flooring & tiles. Around 20 minutes it goes back to the clean station to wash the mop and then continue working.

Only had it a day but loving it already. Fast and easy to setup. Clean and dirty water tanks easy to remove for filling and cleaning at the sink. Great job of first room mapping although drawing a manual line break between rooms a little tricky. Many options for choosing floor type and app suggests tweaks after cleaning each room. Many options for general settings e. g. vacuum power, mop washing interval , mop drying time, after meal cleaning and on and on. Solid build and excellent design work. I returned a cheaper wannabe when the wifi quit working and that was a favour to me stepped up big price-wise but worth it for quality and features.
