From the moment you open the packaging, the Vertuo Pop machine has a weight and presence that feels premium - and deserving of a permanent place on the surface. The operation couldn't be simpler, unlock, insert pod, lock, press button. The difficult decision was choosing which of the vast array of pods available to try first. The pods themselves are really clever, detailing strength and volume of each option - and passing this information to the machine, taking any uncertainty out of the process. Being able to tailor different intensity throughout the day means I am able to enjoy coffee late into the evening without overloading on caffeine. The aerocinno 3 takes those options even further by having hot frothy milk available at all times. It's so easy to use, and really changes the texture and flavour when paired with any of the pods. It's also easy to clean, with the whisk element held in by magnets, making it easy to rinse and ensure no milk is left in any part of the mechanism. I love the machine for my own daily needs, but my favourite use by far is having friends round and being able to offer a barista-level menu of coffees to choose from, and serving them in the included glass cups. It takes my hosting skills to the next tier and my friends have all commented on how great the coffee is. In conclusion, I believe the Nespresso Vertuo Pop provides a great variety of coffee and barista level flavour in a stylish experience for a small footprint.

In the words of the great Dolly Parton “Wake up in the morning stumble to the kitchen, pour myself a cup of ambition”. Well actually I stumble into the kitchen, select my pod, froth my milk, and I have the best cup of coffee to kick start my day! It’s such a small machine that delivers a mighty cup of coffee. I love how easy it is to use, the water tank could be a little bigger or maybe on the side to make it easier to access, but that’s a minor detail, The milk frother is great, the first time I used it I put a little too much milk in so didn’t get the full froth, however since then I make sure I use the guides that are inside the frother and I’ve had the best frothy coffee ever since. I still have a lot of coffee pods to go through to decide which will be my staple morning coffee and which will be a pick me up throughout the day, and then I will have some decaf pods for my evening coffee, there is such a good variety of coffee’s that it’s going to be hard to choose which are my favourite. Another great quirk with the machine is that when you lift the lid, it will scoop up the used pod and deposit it in a container inside the machine, which just lifts away from the side easily to be be able to empty! It really is a great machine that produces a really good quality coffee, it will save me a fortune on take outs as I can now make better tastier coffee at home for a fraction of the price. It looks great in my kitchen, it adds a touch of class shall I say! You can never go wrong in life if you have good coffee, and nespresso have nailed it.

The Nespresso Barista Box contains everything you need to make coffee shop quality barista-style drinks in moments in your very own home. The kit contained a white Vertuo Pop machine, which is small and compact in design but still delivers on quality drinks. An Aeroccino3 is also included, which creates the silkiest creamy milk froth for your coffee, together with two sleeves of coffee pods (Melozio and Chiaro), two gorgeous glass mugs and spoons, and I was pleasantly surprised to find an additional selection box of twelve pods to try out different creations. The coffee machine itself is quite loud when in use, and took some getting used to on an early morning - think of a washing machine on a spin cycle in the next room. Although it wasn't disturbingly loud, it was a lot louder than anticipated. In terms of making a coffee, the machine is unbelievably quick; fill the reservoir with water, insert a pod, and place your mug below. The machine heats up in 30 seconds, and reads the unique barcode on the pod to produce the perfect brew, you don't have to guess or select any options for temperatures of amounts of water, the machine does it all for you. Perfect for those bleary-eyed mornings! The Aeroccino3 is just as simple to use - fill up to the line with your chosen milk, put the lid on and press the button to get perfectly hot or cold frothy milk every time. I question the Bluetooth functionality, as so far it has not changed my coffee making experience with this machine. The instructions are heavily geared up to using the app and enhancing Bluetooth connectivity, however other than finding instruction manuals specifically for my device and short "how to" videos I find that this function offers no real purpose. Perhaps if it were to keep a record of which pods/brews had been made, with some interactive way of reviewing each drink and recommending similar or new brews/flavours then the app and Bluetooth connectivity may be more meaningful and tailored for individual users. Overall, a powerful compact machine that easily delivers coffee sop barista style drinks at home. An absolute delight to have, and highly recommended.
