I purchased the queen sized lavender 3" topper for reference. I bought this item to go on top of our more firm memory foam camper mattress. It is very soft and if it is placed on a hard mattress you may be able to feel the harder mattress below over time, but this topper is still incredible. I also used this on my everyday sleeping mattress and it was a dream! So, I am going to buy another one for my room now. DO NOT force the topper open, let it expand on its own time. If you force it open before it starts to fluff up you may damage the topper, rips in the seams etc.. Mine took about 45 minutes to fluff up before I laid it flat. I put it on my bed and walked away and came back to the room about 45 minutes later and it looked fluffed up. That's when I laid it flat and I let it lay out on my bed all day, that night, and the next day before sleeping on it as well. I used it on my bed for one night before I moved it from inside my house to my camper and put it on the bed, put a mattress protector over it and then put my regular sheets on the bed. I moved it into my camper and put it on my memory foam mattress that is rather firm. This topper isn't very dense so you will pretty much feel the softness immediately when you lay down on it and your body will make an impression. I am 130#'s and my husband is 180#'s, we both slept very well on it during the month we used it out on our adventures. My husband absolutely loves this topper and wants another one for our bedroom. I had a traumatic back injury 10 years ago and I also agree to how comfortable this topper can make your bed. I did feel that after about 8 hours of laying on it during the night (I am a side sleeper) I could feel the mattress below it, but I also think this is because we have an old firm memory foam mattress in our camper. I knew when I purchased it that it wouldn't alleviate that, but I was hoping it would help make it more comfortable and I was right! When I used it in my bedroom I didn't feel the mattress below and I slept in for the first time in years! I'm so happy with my purchase that I am purchasing a second one! PROS: I really like the smell of the topper, it is pretty strong when you first open it, but it goes away within a couple of hours. Now I only smell it if my face is by the topper and it is a very pleasant smell. It helps firmer mattresses become softer and more comfortable. It is a dream on my bedroom mattress that is a hybrid (springs and memory foam on top). It is light weight and I can move it around to different beds if I want by myself. It is exactly the size of my queen mattresses, the same thickness all over, and I didn't have any issues with it moving around and I think this is because I put my mattress protector over it and then my sheets. CONS: The wait for it to be useable is hard because I am an impatient person. It did move around on the bed until I put it under my mattress protector. The smell is pretty strong when you first open the box, but it dissipates in a few hours time. Not sure if this is 100% the toppers fault, but I feel like it makes me sleep hotter during the night and I like to sleep on the cooler side. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone that is looking to add some extra comfort to their mattress whether it is new or used.

7 MONTH UPDATE (8/30/17): THIS TOPPER ACCUMULATES HEAT WHICH IS THE ONE DRAWBACK. STILL RATING THIS 5 STARS. HAS NOT LOST ONE CM OF SPRING. NO DISCERNIBLE LAVENDER SMELL LEFT. SLEEPING LIKE A BABY STILL. This mattress topper was purchased as a last ditch attempt at saving my king mattress from being hauled to a dumpster and laying out $1600 on a new one. My spouse and I love this and are very happy we rolled the dice and took a chance on something that you really can't test first. The two biggest concerns going in were: does it smell bad/strong and how comfy is it going to be? Right out of the box it smelled strong, I was really worried that I was going to be nauseated and end up throwing it away. Happily one month into owning this I am happy to say that the lavender is mild and pleasing. We opened the box and let it breathe and expand for 48 hours before putting it in the bedroom. Comfort level: I close my eyes and honestly can not tell that we are not sleeping on the tempur-flex or the ultra plush pillowtop that was on the shopping list. It is soft and I sink into it but it has just enough density to support my extremely bad back, neck and hips. There is ONE downfall/drawback that I will mention and it is temperature. I sleep cold, for some reason I get in bed and become an ice cube and need a sleeping bag to form a little cocoon around me trapping in heat. This topper generates heat and does not seem to disperse it well. So I am adjusting my blankets and position to account for the "hot spots" that are arising occasionally. I did not deduct a star from my rating because this is a personal preference, not product quality issue. If you are prone to night sweats this may not be the best choice. I took off the winter fleece sheets and put on lighter cotton and it seemed to reduce the issue for me. Overall I would purchase this again and can recommend it as a good value to others. My sleep quality has improved tremendously.

I have had mines for over 3 years at the time of this writing. Out the box the lavender smell was potent but over time it dissipated and went away completely over the course of a few months. It did not bother me much and the smell made my Man Cave smell better than what it was. Bonus points! The topper inflated rather quickly but I waited 24 hours to use it and when I did...WHEW! Night and Day difference to the bed I had at the time. It felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. I stopped tossing and turning during the night and with my CPAP I sleep so good! People who have sat on my bed immediately wanted to take a nap. It is so comfortable! It can be somewhat difficult to move because it is a very thick topper (Mines was 4 inches) but you get use to it. You also will have to get bed sheets that can accommodate the thickness. Over time this will break down. I am a morbidly obese person (550+ pounds) and I am surprised this topper held up this long. The topper hasn't flattened out but it is breaking apart. The holes are where the breaks started and mines is almost split in two parts. Mines also started to discolor because I sleep hot and sweat. Because it is foam I did not expect it to last as long as it did but I only sleep in my bed and lounge in my computer chair. This was supposed to be a short term solution until I move and get a new bed. I did move and get a new bed and I put this topper on top and it feels amazing. I will have to throw mines away soon and I will be upset as it has been very good to me and my fat. If you are looking to buy this don't expect this to be a long term solution. If your bed is uncomfortable you will probably need to get a new bed. I am giving it high marks because it has been so good to me and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a foam topper.

I don't know how I managed without the memory foam topper. Sublime comfort and so needed for my body now that I'm in my 70's and have back discomfort. Highly recommended.

Definitelyw orth the cost. I tested it out for the night and had the best sleep in ages with the memory foam. Whether I was sleeping on my front, back or side, the mattress supported me well. My actual mattress is an old uni accommodation one so this mattress topper provided the perfect cushioning and I genuinely slept well. The smell isn't notable at all unless you're intentionally trying to smell it so it's not going to effect sleep. Will have to see how it hold up over time but for the first night I'm very pleased, didnt take long to inflate by itself after unlocking. I measured my bed prior to purchasing and the topper was slightly larger but... I just trimmed it with some kitchen scissors and it works fine. Can be used with larger bedding so it fits over both the mattress and the topper.
