Impressive
This headset fascinates me. I bought it to record ambient sounds on walks that I can play back as a form of escape! It plugs into my sound recorders - I've tried it with a Zoom H2N and a Sony ICD-PX470 simply by plugging the red plug into the external mic socket and the black one into the headphone socket. The microphone sound quality seems more than good enough for ambient recordings. Even recording my own voice as I was wearing was good quality. I haven't tried it with music yet but that's not what I got it for. The binaural recordings I made so far have an uncanny quality that makes me move my head when I listen back as it really does fool me into thinking I'm actually there! Like many headsets the wires have a tendency to tangle and putting it all back in the pouch is like trying to put a bunch live snakes into a small carrier bag! The sound quality for listening seems good if a little bass heavy (that might suit many) and the earplugs do stay in my ears without a problem. In any case there are a couple of sets of alternative plugs to try and get a good fit Seems like a quality item albeit with a mostly novelty value, but if it's the kind of thing you like playing with you may be rewarded with some really good results. I expect it would work really well in a 3D VR setting! I've sent some recordings to friends and they have commented on how spookily real they are!

Dont talk Dont eat ..enjoy!
five stars for the best sounding, best fit ear buds. Worth the money just for that. Bonus they record great dummy head audio. I would suggest that if you do not understand the principles of dummy head recording ...learn it! A few tips for those new to it: Dont talk Dont eat Dont move your head ..let the soundscape move around you. A good test is to sit or stand still, away from other people, on a busy train or subway platform. Make one recording without moving your head, keep it in a fixed position ahead. Now make another recording while moving your head to follow trains arriving and departing. Notice the difference? Try standing under a flight path. Do not look up but keep your head still and allow the aircraft to pass over your head...awesome. Remember dummy head recording is not just left and right. Understand how wind can effect the the sensitive mics before using them for real outside.

Read the instuctions first.
First read the instructions, turn the headphone volume down before connecting. This is the first point in the instructions and its a good one, other wise there will be a lot of feedback. I have only done a couple of tests as microphones and about 5 minutes listening. These are expensive so you are paying for the microphones, if you just want to listen then buy something else. When I first recorded something there was a lot of movement noise in my ears. To my surprise this was not recoded and is just in ear noise (its difficult to describe). The noise is the movement of the cable transmitted to your ears it does not come out on the recording. The recording is good to very good. The play back quality did not make me go WOW and is adequate to good but there are better earphones at less price. As other people have noted, the wind socks fall off and are lost way to easily, I assumes spares are available (cost!!). I have now used the microphones more. The quality is very good but the wind socks fall off and are now annoying me. I have not lost one yet, but it's only a matter of time. I did wonder if permanently fitting them with a dab of glue is the answer but given the cost of the headphones I am loath to do it. Also you would have to be very careful with the glue placement. Update, the wind socks have now passed the annoyance level so I have tied them on with cotton thread. The more I use them, the more I am impressed with the recording quality. To be honest, there is little alternative on the market, but if you want to try binaural recording search YouTube for other ideas before you spend the money. If you ignore the cost you won't be disappointed. Update: I have still failed to find spare wind socks or an alternative, but I am still impressed with the audio quality. Given the number of people doing street recording, I am surprised there is no alternative product.

Technically I cannot tell if the microphones are of a very high grade or not (you know, all the numbers, charts and other stats). I'm a casual electronic/ambiant sonic elements creator and used them so far to capture low level sounds like footsteps on dead leaves, folding fabric, pouring water, etc. In all instances the result recordings were very clear with no static background noise and had this characteristic binaural presence. Interestingly I like these microphones also when it comes to record my video narratives. I prefer that to a big microphone right in my face. I recorded everything using a Zoom H1N It doesn't take long that anyone can get really creative with this versatile microphone set.

The recording effect is good. With the camera, the recording effect is much better than the built-in mic of the camera, which makes me very satisfied. I am willing to give it an 80-point rating. The only small regret is that the sound of the Roland CS-10EM earphones is very ordinary. There is very little bass. If you want to improve the sound quality, it is recommended to choose a slightly larger earplug cap. Overall, the CS-10EM satisfies me. I mainly use it for recording, which is already very good.

I've only had these mics for a couple days, but I've already fallen in love with them. The stereo image you get when recording with them is absolutely amazing. Being blind, I prefer to get good, clear audio rather than a picture of things, and these mics fit the bill very well. I do wish, however, that the windscreens that come with the mics were a bit fluffier, so as to guard against higher windspeeds and protect more against this. Aside from that, they are amazing for the price point, and i'd highly recommend them for those who love to get that 3-d audio experience when making stereo recordings. A couple notes to those curious about these mics: 1. They will work with recorders like the olympus ls10, ls14, ls100, zoom h1, h2, h2N, h4,h4N, roland r05, r09 and r09HR. 2. With most binaural mics, when speaking into the mics while wearing them, you get what I like to call a "headspace" sound, which makes your voice sound slightly muffled and hard to understand at times. This is not present on these microphones, at least as far as I can tell. 3: For any blind customers looking to purchace these mics: When you get them, it may be a bit tricky to tell which side is the left and which is the right. There's a neet little way of figuring this out. Since the earbuds are off center from the mics, you can find which one goes in the right or left ear. Also note that to wear them the right way around, the mics must angle outwards slightly when looking at them from the back, so to speak.. 4: in the package you have two different sizes of extra tips for the earbuds. I recommend using the larger size, so as to provide a better fit inside the ear. 5: If you're going to record outside with these mics, use the windscreens so as to try and protect against wind noise.
