Do you need to put something on the bottom or can you just place it on top of your existing soil?

Really depends on what you’re growing and what your natural yard is like. If your yard is prone to weed growing or if your plants need utmost nutrients and resources, then place a mesh/weed barrier/etc on top of your yard before placing your garden bed down. If your plant requires a lot of root space growing downwards, feel free to disregard liners. If your neighborhood has moles or pests, I recommend a liner as well.

Is the wood treated? What should I line the bed with?

The wood appears untreated - I treated it with Boracare (following instructions on jug and allowing time for absorbtion and drying) I actually just lined the interior with weed guard fabric. So far so good.

How can it be used for patios of it doesn't have the bottom?

I would suggest getting a piece of plywood and cut it to the size of the garden box. Then I would get a tarp and using a staple gun staple it to the plywood. You will have double protection for your patio floor. This is what we plan on doing when ours arrive. The only concern I have is that root rot can happen because the water will not be able to escape.

Look great

Very easy to assemble and look good. These are a good depth compared to some others that I looked at. Hopefully they will be weather resistant and not rot in the winter weather. I would recommend that they are assembled where you wish to have them as not easy to move once put together.

Perfect little garden box

The dimensions are good and the product is sturdy. It was easy to assemble but assembly instructions can be simplified. Do the outer sections first, then assemble the inner support.

Great product

Took me 20 minutes to put together would have been nice to add a membrane to it but nice product worth the price plus you can add to it that’s what the extra hole in bottom of I’m going to call them legs is for so you can put one on top of other to make it deeper if you want to.

Keep shopping Not suitable for outdoor garden use

I really looked forward to the planter as it was a nice size, design and height level than most others. However the price is high for a garden planter that is not a thick treated wood for garden use and although it is easy to assemble it’s not very sturdy. Mine within 2 -3 weeks is showing cracks which is not normal. I would definitely suggest the price is too high for the product advertised for garden use but not treated or suitable for outdoor weather. Keep shopping
