A twisting, pulse-pounding thriller from Freida McFadden, the New York Times , Sunday Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Housemaid and The Coworker . The third book in the Housemaid series. "You must be our new neighbors!" Mrs. Lowell gushes and waves across the picket fence. I clutch my daughter's hand and smile back: but the second Mrs. Lowell sees my husband a strange expression crosses her face. In that moment I make a promise. We finally have a family home. My past is far, far behind us. And I'll do anything to keep it that way… I used to clean other people's houses―now, I can't believe this home is actually mine. The charming kitchen, the quiet cul-de-sac, the huge yard where my kids can play. My husband and I saved for years to give our children the life they deserve. Even though I'm wary of our new neighbor Mrs. Lowell, when she invites us over for dinner it's our chance to make friends. Her maid opens the door wearing a white apron, her hair in a tight bun. I know exactly what it's like to be in her shoes. But her cold stare gives me chills… The Lowells' maid isn't the only strange thing on our street. I'm sure I see a shadowy figure watching us. My husband leaves the house late at night. And when I meet a woman who lives across the way, her words chill me to the bone: Be careful of your neighbors . Did I make a terrible mistake moving my family here? I thought I'd left my darkest secrets behind. But could this quiet suburban street be the most dangerous place of all? From Sunday Times bestselling author Freida McFadden comes the next instalment of the unbelievably twisty, tension-packed and globally bestselling Housemaid series. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone read: and once you start, it will have you up all night racing through the pages until the final explosive twist. Fast paced, gripping but fell flat
The Housemaid Is Watching unfolds in four parts with an epilogue and multiple perspectives. The first two parts were gripping, fast paced, kept me hooked and suspecting everyone. In the later parts, I found myself wanting to get to the end. The plot twists in this didn't quite hit the spot for me. Frieda McFadden's books have been hit or miss for me so far. I liked the first book, The Housemaid, more than the other two.

Psychological thriller
Book Review — The Housemaid Is Watching by Freida McFadden Truly Dark. Too Twisted. Totally Addictive. Just when you thought it couldn’t get better, you pick the 3rd in the series and it leaves your jaw dropped! Tense and provocative, laced with secrets, it takes domestic suspense to an entirely different level. It’s racy in all the right ways — every chapter layered with deceit, desire, and danger. McFadden masterfully builds tension, layering suspicion, deceit, and subtle clues throughout. Just when you think you have it all figured out, she delivers a completely unexpected climax that flips everything on its head. It’s not just a twist — it’s a revelation that redefines everything that came before it. This story doesn’t just keep you on the edge of your seat — it pulls the rug out from under you. A must-read for lovers of domestic suspense. ★★★★★ #TheHousemaidIsWatching #FreidaMcFadden #ThrillerReview #CurrentlyReading #BookAesthetic #SuspenseReads #PsychologicalThriller #DarkReads #booksbooksbooks #bookreviews #bookrecco #bookstagrammer #bookobsessed

Completes the circle of story
Honestly, her books are as always a fluent and crisp read, and if you have followed up with the Housemaid series, you should try this. What I love is the fact that it completes a full circle from where the story started, yet at some point I felt like, it context of children and siblings, there was this weird kind of writing that made me feel anxious.

A really crazy read.
I have loved The Housemaid and the other two books a lot. But this was kind of boring it didn't get me hooked up to the story until part 2 of this book started, of course the twist was unexpected, but it's very lengthy compared to the other two books. All in all a good read.

Exceptional thriller!
Millie and her husband have just purchased their dream house, and they are moving in with their two young children. The children, Ada and Nicolas, do not share their parents’ enthusiasm about the move, and are wary about their new house and surroundings. Millie, on the other hand, is over the moon to start a new life in a good neighbourhood, and leave her troubled life well behind her. But the house and neighbourhood seem to have dark secrets and very soon, Millie starts to suspect that this new move could bring more troubles than happiness to her life. What are her two closest neighbours up to? One seems very oddly behaved, paranoid about everything and spying on everybody. The other one, Suzette, appears to have developed an unhealthy interest in Millie’s husband. As the story progresses, the reader does not know who to trust, every character seems to be hiding something. A well developed story, well written from different points of views, as the narrator is not always the same character. A story full of intrigue, mystery and twists. When I thought I had guessed the ending, I quickly found out I was completely wrong! This book is the final one of the series « The Housemaid », and although it can be read independently, I enjoyed the fact I had read the previous two and knew about Millie’s past life. I enjoyed this book tremendously and recommend all three books in the series.
