Very tasty
These vegan marshmallows topped the sweet potato casserole at Thanksgiving dinner. I purchased them because we have one vegan in the family but they were enjoyed by all. They crisped up when baked which was a bit different but they tasted great. The maple flavor was a bonus. A few were left in the bag after dinner but they quickly disappeared as the grandkids passed them around. I will order more for Christmas dinner.

super tasty, great maple flavor!
These are definitely a splurge at $9.50 for 5oz, but it is worth the vegan tax on this one! The maple flavor is so good, you can just smell it as soon as you open the bag. Tastes great too, exactly as you'd expect maple to taste like. The texture of the marshmallows is pretty good! Not too soft or squishy, just right. I've used dandies brand marshmallows for things like crispy treats before, and they work great for that as long as you melt them with vegan butter or coconut oil and not by themselves! This is a pretty small bag for the price though, so I would recommend using these ones for topping a sweet potato casserole or a dessert.

Good Flavor, Good Texture
The texture is good. It’s not the same texture as like a gourmet marshmallow, but it’s just like a storebought marshmallow, all in the best way. It’s firm, but squishy. The flavor is really good. I’m reviewing the pumpkin spice flavor, but I was actually able to try the maple one as well. Both were really good. The maple was very maple-y, but not artificial. The pumpkin spice one tastes pretty good as well. Sweet, the pumpkin isn’t super forward, but the spice is present. I think they were great in cocoa, or in anything pumpkin spice-y… or plain, out of the bag! Overall, I really liked these, and appreciate that they’re a good vegan option with decent ingredients. I have some friends who are vegan, and it was nice to offer them something that had a better texture than the typical stuff I’ve tried.

VERY SMALL BAG
They taste great, but the package is very small and overpriced for its size. I was expecting a full sized package, similar to whatvI buy in the grocery store FOR HALF the price... instead, I got half the size for DOUBLE the price. But again, the pumpkin spice variety - and really all of the Dandies - taste great.

Strongly maple flavored! Light, fluffy, tasty, cocoa sized, good ingredients.
I have to stop eating these, so I can write the review... ok,ok, I'll stop....just one more, really... Wow. If you don't like maple these are NOT for you. The smell of maple hits you the minute you tear open the bag. My husband is from Maine, and I have had those little melt-in-your-mouth maple sugar candies that you seem to only be able to get in New England. I can't go quite far enough to say these are identical, but they sure are evocative of them. The consistency is firmer, but the taste spreads across your tongue similarly . I wouldn't want them in my hot chocolate, personally, but straight out of the package is just fine. They are also surprisingly good with unsalted almonds. I had some almonds in a bowl nearby and tried them mixed on a whim. Mmmmmm. So, yes. Maple they are! A strong maple, so order accordingly. A last note: my daughter is reactive to both gluten and corn, so I have bought Dandies many times before. We are not vegan and I will make marshmallows myself with gelatin, but they are right, I do like the tapioca base better. It makes a better textured, lighter and fluffier marshmallow, and it is easier to flavor (because you don't have to hide the gelatin.) The list of ingredients is great - again, please see picture. The only thing I wish they wouldn't use are "natural flavors", because it's a misleading term and can contain corn. But it isn't going to stop us from eating the marshmallows.

Good On Their Own, Not Great for Rice Krispy Treats
These marshmallows were good on their own, but did not make great rice krispy treats! On their own, texture-wise they were very similar to a regular marshmallow and they had a nice light, pumpkin flavor. They were sweet and delicious! I think they're a great option for anybody that wants a vegan marshmallow (no gelatin) and no artificial flavors or dyes. If those are not qualities that you care about, there are certainly other options that would provide a better value. You pay for what you get with these marshmallows (more expensive, but good quality). I wanted to use these marshmallows to make rice krispy treats. They had a weird texture and didn't melt down as well as regular marshmallows. I wouldn't do that again, but I'd certainly eat more straight from the bag!
