I bought this for my garage. The original sensor for the garage door finally failed after around 25 years. That one employed a reflector at one end. I couldn’t find a similar one, so took a punt on these. I’ve just fitted them and they work perfectly. I found a supply inside the controller for the door - around 18v - ran a pair of wires to the far (reflector) side of the roller door, found a couple of 12v lamps, wired them in series, took a wire from them to the +ve supply of the receiver unit, the other wire from the lamps to the output, and a jumper across from the -ve supply to the “com” terminal. I stuck the units to the original sensor brackets with double-sided foam tape and it works like a charm. Perfect! Very pleased. Note the transmitter unit has only a pair of power connectors. The receiver has two pairs: power, “out” and “com” (common). Remember to fit the rubber ‘o’ rings.
