My FAVORITE Garden Tool !!
As summer comes so does our fast growing bushes and trees. It has always been a pain to use our pruning clippers on them, and I always fell behind. The plants grew faster than I was willing to sit in the sun to trim them. These battery powered clippers however make it a breeze to keep everything trimmed. These clippers are easy to use and fully compatible with my existing Makita batteries. With the smallest 1.5AH Makita battery, it trims for a very long time and is relatively lightweight. After several bins full of trimmings, I barely moved the battery below 100%. There's an LCD indicator on the trimmer to show the battery level and number of trimmings, but I found the display to be unnecessary. The power on/off button is near the battery with a beep to confirm it's on. The cutter is so powerful and sharp, I was worried about getting in the way of it from a safety perspective. Once you press the trigger, it does its job with efficiency. There's no going back. The cutter, gears and motor sounds a little like the word "guillotine" every time cuts! It usually cuts thick branches in one pass, unless you have a very dry, dense and thick branches where you may need to trigger it multiple times. Even then, it was still impressive and much better than if I had struggled to do it by hand. It comes with a nice case to hold the cutter and a few accessories to swap out the blade, although I won't be putting it away until the end of summer! Bottom line, this is my new handy tool that I can't live without! Edit: After months of heavy use, this thing my favorite outdoor tool! It's reliable & powerful. I no longer hesitate when I see an intimidating bush in my way... And it's fun to use!

This silly thing works great!
It’s also slightly terrifying. Definitely should be kept away from children! This is a power tool and should be treated as such. It has the ability to very easily and very quickly remove fingers from your hand. Great for pruning smaller branches. It’ll cut well over 1/2” but you can hear it straining a little with the big stuff. I guess the species of whatever you’re cutting would make a difference too. If you’re out pruning all day this will definitely save your hand from getting sore. The little display has a counter that tells you how many times you’ve pulled the trigger (resets after every power cycle).. I didn’t read the instructions. Thought the unit was DOA because once you power it on the trigger does nothing until you rapidly pull it twice to enable the machine. I guess it’s a safety feature. Long press of trigger will cycle between two different opening sizes of the blade. A longer press will close the blade back to the “locked” position that you’ll again need to double-press to unlock. Cool little tool at a very fair price.

Great cutter, A lot of cutter for reasonable money.
GREAT PRODUCT WORKS FINE ON DAWALT BATTERY. It cuts thru wood or weeds brush over 1 inch in diameter. Very very impressive. Lots of power, and battery drain is extremely small. I use a Dewalt 3 amp hour battery. A little heavy, but packs a lot more power. Though, the 2 amphr battery is a lot lighter. The trigger switch is good and has a safety feature that is better than other cutters. Release the trigger and the blade stops cutting and returns to open position. Much better than others that just keep on cutting once the trigger is pulled. Could save you a finger getting in the way. I didn't like the small circular on off switch. It is critical to making the cutters functions work. It is too small and hard to press. They need to spend 2 cents more and put in a bigger and better switch.

Works like a Champ!
One of my favorite tools in the garage - easy to use, lightweight when you use 2AH deWalt battery. Great for arthritic hands. Cuts clean even on fresh branches. Nice carry case w/ sharpening stone, extra blade, tools and oil container (no oil). Definitely worth the $50 for "tool only".

Great cutter. Only prob is the 2 minute shut off.
Works well and cuts clean. Powerful and can even cut thicker branches with multiple cuts. Only 4 stars because not crazy about it turning off after a couple minutes. Doubt it's draining the battery when not cutting. A minor irritation if you sit it down and it shuts off. Gotta hold the little power button and double trigger to cut again. Wish it would stay on for maybe 15 minutes and then shut down.

You'll never want to use a manual pruner again
I bought this about the same time as a battery-powered mini chain saw, thinking it might only be a novelty. WRONG. After a few minutes of use -- and hours since then -- this device has proven invaluable. I have used a premium Bahco manual pruner for years, and while that is a quality tool, these electric shears instantly won the competition. They are light and powerful, easily cutting branches an inch or so thick -- much larger than the Bahco can accommodate. They are effortless in use, cut as fast as you pull the trigger, and thus far have proven durable and sharp. A 5AH battery will make hundreds of cuts; switching to something like a 1.5AH battery will make the tool even lighter in use at the expense, of course, of fewer cuts before recharging or switching to a charged battery. The price is low, but you have to add your own Makita battery and charger. Sorry, Bahco; since buying this tool I have yet to once look for my trusty old manual pruner.

Works great with all my Dewalt batteries. It is smaller and lighter than the full size Dewalt pruner. which I also have. But it still has plenty of cutting power. 'This would be my choice for trimming small bushes, I would switch to the Dewalt version for heavy branches. My sister in-law has already tried to steal it from me. :)
