Has the potential to light out darkest hour.
I bought a G1 Optimus Prime about 20 years ago on eBay and I don't know if it's a reproduction or the original, but it was missing parts and a little banged up. I had wanted something similar, but in better shape and here comes this figure. It is a little smaller than the original and, of course, not diecast but it makes up for it in several other places. Fun to transform, but retains a lot of the original's transformations. I was missing my original's gun and this little guy came with two. It doesn't fit the original's hands, but I'm still happy to have them. Also happy the fists don't need to be stored in the cab when you transform him into a truck. Not to mention, as the title would suggest, this figure comes with the Matrix of Leadership. It's not painted, but a clear blue plastic, which wasn't that big of a deal for me. Not my first Optimus that came with the Matrix. Secondly, the cab's windows are made of a colorless clear plastic (as opposed to blue clear windows on other Optimuses). The Matrix doesn't stick out like a sore thumb when stored inside the chest. It kinda blends in, so I think the clear blue Matrix might've been a good choice. Great figure if you've never had the original toy. Great figure if you have. I've heard it's smaller than the Missing Link Optimus, but as I don't have it (it's expensive), I can't compare it.

A good solid alternative figure for Missing Link at a great price!
I'm happy to say that my copy of this Optimus Prime figure is pretty sturdy and solid despite some online reviews I've seen suggesting that it is an inferior figure. I found the plastic to be pretty sturdy, solid, and of good quality. It can hold all of it's accessory weapons just fine. The transformation of the figure into truck mode and back is very simple and satisfying. It snaps into vehicle mode very neat and tightly and looks great. I've seen some people criticize the wrist transformation, it's a little stiff but it didn't take me very long to get the hang of it. It's getting a lot of praise as a more cost effective version of the Missing Link figure, but I actually think this version of Optimus Prime is good in it's own right. It's definitely a must have, especially at less than have the cost of the Missing Link figure, it's a great deal.

Best tribute figure ever
I love how this and missing link are both just taking in the original figure’s design and adding more articulation to it. I love how they reworked the back of the design getting rid of the exposed hole, how they integrated the hands into the transformation, including both the original bloated gun and the re run gun, molding the original sticker details into the mold of the figure and the inclusion of the axe and matrix of leadership. This is the perfect figure for families who can’t afford missing link, and both figures stand next to the original is just as cool to, but most of importantly both figures are a reminder of how far when came from piloted battle convoy mech to legendary pop culture iconic, Mark really put a lot of effort and love into this figure and it shows. So I highly recommend getting this and all I can say is that I can’t wait to see and get any future repaints of this figure, especially ultra magnus with the trailer that turns into the armor of the cab robot.

Cheap and cheerful
This is a nice product. Fit and finish is typical for Legacy TF. It’s all plastic, not a lick of diecast on him anywhere, but he’s capable of some nice poses and has plenty of articulation. At 25 bucks this thing is more than worth it. Plus a g1 Optimus you can pose without shelling out for the absurdly expensive Missing Link product is a win in my book. If Hasbro remade every toy from G1 with this level of articulation and price I would seriously buy every last one.

Nice homage to the OG Prime
What a fantastic homage to the original Optimus Prime figure. Very solid in hand, excellent accessories, and of course extremely posable. A little on the small side for a deluxe, which is what had initially turned me off to it. What would have put him over the top would be some additional paint apps on the details they sculpted for where the original’s decals were. Recommend!

It's Got The Touch!
I've always been a massive fan of the Generation 1 Optimus Prime Transformers toy. This scaled down version captures the look and feel of the original, but with some upgraded articulation points and accessories. It transforms into and out of truck mode easily, so it's ideal for kids of all ages. The inclusion of two rifles is a nice added touch. And the energon axel is just the icing on the cake! It's made well, looks amazing, and is a lot of fun to pose. Definitely a must-have for Prime collectors. Highest marks!

Great update to the 80s Toy
It's an amazing upgrade of the original 1980s optimus toy. It's a nice, small piece that transforms with ease yet it's satisfying. A surprising amount of articulation too, while it lacks a wrist joint, it has an unexpected waist joint. The price is standard and is great for new collectors or just someone wanting an affordable optimus prime toy

A Must Buy
This figure of Optimus Prime is a must buy for all Transformer fans, especially those that had the original G1 toy. This figure is basically an updated version of that figure from the 1980s. Has all your expected point of articulation. Plastic quality is great and have had no breakage or loose joints. The tires are even rubber like the original and you don't see many or any rubber tires on any Transformers figures for a long time, excluding the higher end lines. Overall, an awesome update and definitely worth the buy. If possible, buy 2!

It poses well, but its parts don’t snap in well enough. Leaves gaps.
