Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Powder - Original Coffee Creamer for Hair, Skin & Nails Support, 10.3 Oz

Regardless of my schedule or (almost) whatever diet I'm on, I must have my morning coffee. I keep this creamer near the coffee station and use it daily consistently as a result. I only use one scoop, in part because it does add a density to my coffee, maybe like hot chocolate mixes add a creaminess to milk or water. In part because it goes fast. I also add half and half just as a personal preference. You do have to stir the powder in. The flavor is subtly mocha and if you really imagine it there's a hint of coconut but t is definitely not coconut forward. Hard to say if I notice results quite honestly. At 63, I am mostly just trying to offset some of the effects of aging on my skin and soft tissues. I have been using this product for months and expect to continue to use it as long as it's available.

I loved drinking the vanilla flavored one. It was a must with my coffee. I just received one because I ran out and immediately noticed the change in the flavor. Another change was it not having a scoop anymore. I didn't mind it no longer having a scoop since I still had the one from my previous purchase but I can see how inconvenient that could be to someone that is used to having the little scoop to suddenly not finding one inside and worse if they don't have a 1/4 measuring cup at home for whatever reason. For me, the downfall was now it has MALTODEXTRIN which is bad for you and also noticing the big change in how it tastes. Before it was so good and now it tastes so sweet and it even has more of a coconut taste than before. It always had a coconut flavor but very very mild and was balanced beautifully with the vanilla and not sweet at all. Now, it tastes sweet and more coconut. It is that much sweeter... almost like if they had added stevia. So disappointed and with that new ingredient maltodextrin and taste I am not interested in repurchasing.

I will start with the downsides to this product. If I bring this to work and do not have access to a blender or frother, and only have a spoon to blend, it does stay a tad gritty. However if I use the frother on my Ninja Coffee station, there is no grittiness at all! For someone like myself, who looks to substitute in healthy options into my everyday lifestyle this is a great trade off and an amazing product that has been added to my daily coffee routine. Not only does it give me some added collagen which has noticeably helped my nails, but it also gives me 5g of protein right off the bat which is great! The creamer has enough flavor without being sweet, so it adds some flavor to your coffee, but doesn't feel like it is loaded with sugar like you sometimes get with a traditional creamer. As others have mentioned, it is a bit clumpy when it arrives but it really isn't as big of a deal as others have made it out to be, the clumps break up easily and still incorporate fine in the coffee. I will leave you with this....If you are looking for a healthy substitution to your daily creamer, this could be a great option, just know what you are getting and set your expectations accordingly. Will this be as sweet as a coffee mate creamer...no, will it blend as perfectly as those chemical laden powdered creamers?-- yes, if you use a frother or blender, no if you use a spoon.

The tastes is not bad, not very creamy, but when you’re going for benefit first it’s a good option. The powder didn’t mix in well at first- I was mixing in too hot coffee. It dissolved well after a few minutes. It does seem to create little oil droplets on top of the drink and leaves a slightly gritty texture. Overall, it’s not the best tasting creamer but if it has all the health benefits listed it’s a good pick.

I only used this product a few times and in general I came to like it on day 4. I may purchase it again if I see results by the time I run out of it. I’ll share an update when that time comes. This product is not for everybody out there. -If you are a coffee person and want to get your “vital proteins” in your coffee, then this helps. -it does not have a coconutty or any flavor once its in your coffee, but it does have a texture and a little salty taste. I like it but without any sweeteners (stevia or sugar). When I first got it, I was adding stevia and it tasted horrible. It tastes way better without any sweeteners and it actually made me drop the sweetness in my Cappuccino (using the Nespresso machine), which is a great and amazing thing! I used to have my Cappuccino cup with brown/white sugar on a daily basis for 5 years! However, the calories are high and a lot more than the ones that were in the sugar I used to add. -It does give a lot of energy and one day I went without it and felt absolutely drained out of energy. -I would get it again if I see results by the time the little box runs out. -I did it get the shipment really quick and it was not lumpy. -If I don’t see results by the time the box runs out, then I would not ever get it again as its pricey and high in calories and does not have an extraordinary taste. -it worked well with Macademia and Cow milk. I liked it better with Macademia milk and no sweeteners. -Mixing it was hard, I had to use a little whisk in my cup. If you do not mix it well you do get this really bad sand texture between your teeth! So, it all comes down to if it gives great results and helps with better skin, hair and nails!

Zero flavor impact and ended up adding a splash of milk to help. Keeps well. No scoop so save one if you have one.

When I saw this “collagen powder and creamer” in one product, I thought it was a great concept. No more buying creamer and collagen powder separately as 2 different products for our coffee! The let down: The mocha flavor seems to be non-flavored? It is a white powder, so I don’t think any cocoa (raw or otherwise) is actually involved in comprising the “mocha flavor”. It is tasteless except for a bitter aftertaste. It does not act like creamer AT ALL. No matter how many scoops are used (1-3), our coffee remains black. It does not mix well and remains clumpy, floating in coffee. I will be going back to our previous collagen powder brand (that has a great flavor and mixes well despite not being marketed specifically for coffee), and a separate coffee creamer.
