The Ultimate Cleaning Upgrade: Why Scotch-Brite Dobie Pads Beat Traditional Sponges!
Scotch-Brite Dobie Pads are a game-changer for household cleaning, offering superior grime-removal power, a non-scratch design safe for delicate surfaces, and impressive durability that outlasts traditional sponges. Their textured surface makes scrubbing easier and more effective, while their longevity ensures a cost-efficient and eco-friendly cleaning solution. However, they lack the absorbency of a standard sponge, so they might not be the best choice for wiping up spills or spreading liquid cleaners. Overall, these pads are an excellent addition to any cleaning routine, providing reliability and efficiency for a variety of tasks.

Wow these things are Amazing!
I do the dishes in our house, so it is an evening ritual that has been going on for many, many years. For as long as I could recall I used the light blue/dark blue Scotch-Brite pads, occasionally using the yellow/green if the blues were unavailable, both did a good job and served me well for decades. I saw these amazing Dobie's as a suggested product and thought I was just a way for Scotch-Brite to inch out a little more margin with a "premium" sponge, while that may be part of it, they are still quite cheap. As for the job they do it's incredible, not only am I spending less time cleaning dishes, they are without a doubt coming out better. The best part of this is the time saved is the part that I like the least, the scrubbing and repetitive cleaning to remove fused food particles from pans and utensils. It does not scratch anything I've cleaned in the several months I've now been using these. They are a perfect size, they seem a tiny bit smaller than the regular old-school sponges, but it works far better all around. The little hard plastic seams on both ends also work really well for little crevices, I'm not sure if this was by design or as a result of manufacturing but it's a nice little extra tool that's already in your hand. A downfall of these is they definitely don't last as long, once a hole appears in the exoskeleton your poor little sponge is on it's last leg, within a day or two it'll be the end. Maybe I used the old sponges far too long??? I don't know but it is noticeable, but frankly, with how much time they save and how much better they work overall it's not a factor in my decision. I think I saw another reviewer do this so I can't take the credit, but once a sponge has seen better days for cleaning dishes I decommission them to bathroom cleanup, where there are fewer things to catch the little tears on they will survive for a few bathroom cleanings, which I'd want to throw it out after anyway, who wants a 6 month old sad little, dirty, germ-filled sponge hanging around a bathroom? As good of a job as these Dobies do in the kitchen, they are perhaps even better in a bathroom, they just tear through anything a bathroom can throw at it. Our master bath is quite large with a lot of tiles and these make it a quick job for cleanup. If you're on the fence, give these a try, I mean look at how much I just wrote about a sponge!

BEST SCRUBBER
These are my preferred scrubber. They do not retain odors like a typical sponge, and the covering will not scratch non-stick surfaces. They work well on every type of cook/bakeware. They also last fairly well, though a sharp, serrated knife will cut through the outer coating. Just run it along the back (smooth) side of the cutting utensils.

Most effective and versatile cleaning sponge
I always end up going back to these when I try out new scrubbers. I have an assortment of dish washing tools in the sink but this is the most effective. I buy a huge box in case they become unavailable for some reason in the future, but each one lasts so long that years go by before I need to reorder. I saw in reviews that people do not know how to keep them clean, so they fault the sponge. After use, I squeeze out the excess water and let them dry, then very occasionally rinse them with a weak solution of bleach, rinse out the bleach and let them dry. After I got my latest brand new dishwasher replacement, I stopped using a dishwasher. It doesn't get things clean. The cost and environmental insult of dishwasher soap is ridiculous, as is the long period of time sloshing dirty water over dishes. Because my cooking, baking and serving are pretty involved, many of the important implements I use would either not fit well in a dishwasher, would get ruined in a dishwasher, or would not be available for immediate use if waiting for the dishwasher to get a full load. By the time I would get things pre- or post- washed for the appliance, I would not be saving much time or labor. Besides, I love the sparkle and gleam of hand-washed dishes. They dry quickly and are ready to be used again, so I find I don't need so many fleets of place settings, so many extra glasses, etc. because they are quickly washed and air dried instead of piling up in the dishwasher. These dobies make it a very pleasant task instead of a chore. Right now I have two on duty, one for greasy or smelly work, the other for glassware or light duty, like china dessert plates. I use them longer than I should, which I notice when I replace them and realize that the edges of the plastic strands of the old sponge were quite worn down. I demote the old sponge to other duties in the utility room sink or garden sink and only throw them out when they are too filthy with serious outdoor or grill muck to use again. Just can't imagine the kitchen without them. They hold soap and water as needed, scrub surfaces effectively, do no harm, fit in my hand, economical, available from Amazon. I do keep trying new and different products to see what I might be missing, but nothing comes close to these. Perfect!

I have been using Dobie Pads since the late 1960's. I now live in British Columbia and haven't found them here in stores. Every time I go the the USA I stock up and bring them home. When I thought to look on amazon.com when I was running low, there they are. This is my second order. The Dobie Pads last a long time and use them every day to hand wash my dishes. The quality is still great after 60 years and a few company buy outs. Thank you
