A fantastic lens for cinematic GoPro footage!
As someone who loves pushing the boundaries of what my GoPro can do, I was incredibly excited to get my hands on the NEEWER 1.2X Anamorphic Lens. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! This lens is an absolute game-changer for anyone looking to add a professional, cinematic touch to their GoPro footage. Right out of the box, the build quality feels premium. It's solid, well-constructed, and attaches securely to my GoPro Hero 12 without any fuss. The anti-reflection multi-coated HD optical lens really shines through in the footage – everything looks crisp and clear. The main reason to get an anamorphic lens is for that gorgeous widescreen cinematic effect, and the NEEWER delivers beautifully. My videos immediately gained that epic, expansive look you see in movies. It truly transforms the standard GoPro aspect ratio into something much more artistic and immersive. And the blue flares! Oh, the blue flares! This is one of those subtle but powerful effects that just screams "cinematic." When you catch a light source just right, you get those characteristic horizontal blue streaks that add so much character and depth to your shots. It’s not overdone; it’s just enough to give your footage that professional, polished feel. I've used it in various conditions – bright daylight, golden hour, and even some indoor shots with practical lights – and it consistently performs well. It's surprisingly easy to use; once it's on, you just shoot as normal, and the lens does its magic. You will need to de-squeeze the footage in editing, but that's standard for anamorphic lenses and usually just a simple setting in your video editor. If you're serious about elevating your GoPro videography and want to achieve that coveted cinematic look, this NEEWER 1.2X Anamorphic Lens is an absolute must-have. It's a fantastic addition to my gear bag, and I can't recommend it enough!

Damn fine, solid stuff done well.
Neweer gear is dependable, solid and a great solution for affordable utility pieces. Lens has proven to be superior from the optics view, robust in fit and finish, and consistent in use. 5 stars for a reason- they do what they say and it well at a great price.

A great value if you don't mind a little video editing.
Compared to the other Anamorphic options, this is a good value, But you will will need to do a bit of work. This anamorphic lens will stretch out the perspective your GoPro records on the width by a factor of 1.22. After recording, you **must** run the video through an editor to adjust the video's width by this 1.22 factor. If you are comfortable with video editors, this process is trivially easy. If not, then this may not be the lens for you. While the GoPro is capable of performing in-camera perspective correction automatically, that only works with lenses from GoPro. If you don't mind doing a little video editing but want to save money, this might be the right lens for you. However, the Hypersmooth functionality built into the GoPro doesn't work with this lens. As you move the camera around, the GoPro will try to compensate through a warp stabilizer. When that fails for this lens, your shows look as wobbly as jello. You'll need to turn off stablization. Shots can be stabilized in post. But that option will only be available to those that are comfortable in a video editor.

It simply works.
This lens is amazing. We using it for filming our shrimp and fish in our nano aquariums. So awesome.

A Great Asset When Used at the Right Focal Distance
This lens deserves recognition. I film for my YouTube channel and find the standard GoPro Hero10 focal distance appalling. When filming close-up technical photos and videos, I have to hold the cam 13-inches or further from the subject to get a sharp image, then lose significant resolution in cropping. This 15X Neewer lens allows close-up, full-frame sharpness. The focal distance (2.75" to 4") is narrow, and depth of field is shallow, which can be awkward for some shoots. However, until GoPro makes a Macro Lens Mod lens for cams earlier than the Hero13, this Neewer lens is the solution.

Price good. Weight, size, and fit not so good.
Much cheaper than the GoPro official lens, but bulkier and a little less sharp. I've had the original and lost it, thought this would make a good replacement, and it does. My complaints are the larger protrusion from the camera body and the looser fit. The only compliment is the price. I'm not sure I'd recommend it over the GoPro version.

not for beginners but damn incredible for what it allows you to do!
If you know what you're doing, it's an incredible lens, but you do need to know at least the triangle of exposure and be able to desquese footage in post, but with that in mind. With my Hero 12, it can turn a tad, but it's flush with the camera, fits well enough. The image quality is insane for $40, it does push the focus plane closer to the lens than the stock, so it's like a minimum focus distance of roughly 6 feet, but this thing looks nuts. It adds one more step to production, but it's worth it.

Good, almost great but still has its issues..
I’m kinda torn. Cannot find the original GoPro Max lens so decided to give the Neewer one a go. While I am not counting any pixels or anything like that, the image quality is pretty great. It is a bit chunky but it doesn’t feel out of balance nor did the extra weight bother me. In fact, I couldn’t even tell… My major gripe however with the lens is that it is not snug, and has a little bit of movement left and right. After my first ride the lens hd shifted a bit, not that it would fall off, but enough to get me worried. It’s not cheap either…bit neither is the original. I think the lens would be an amazing purchase as long as it would be a snug fit..

Cumle las espectativas de foco a distancias cortas. Tiene bastante profundidad de campo tratándose de un macro. No he observado aberraciones cromátivcas.
