Great economical pen with a great look!
This pen is very beautiful, the wood has a nice character to it. It also comes with an ink converter. The only issue I had was that the ink would start to thin out and then skip over time until I played with the converter a bit. Dryden Pens apologized for the issues I was having and without any further questions, changed out the pen for a new one. Great customer service! When I put disposable Dryden cartridges in the pen, I no longer have issues, so I believe I had a bad converter.EDIT: Indeed it seems that the first pen had a defective converter. The replacement pen and converter works much better. Very smooth writing, and no skipping like the first. Great customer service, I will definitely consider Dryden pens in the future for gifts or for my family needs.

This is a well made product and worth the money!
I have owned fountain pens many years ago and have loved writing with them. In the past I had had difficulty with ink on my hands. This pen is made like no other. The design is beautiful. I have not had any ink on me. Writing is smooth and without difficulty. Changing the ink cartridge is easy and ink spill free. I was skeptical at first and not sure I wanted to pay the price. I am so glad I bought it. I would not buy any other brand. Before purchasing I read reviews on many pens before deciding on this brand and the rosewood color. So very happy with it. Not one complaint.

4 stars for the value, 3.5 for the attention to detail
I don't want the headline to detract from the beauty of this pen; aesthetically, it is wonderful, and makes a nice addition to my growing collection. I have two Dryden pens now, and both behave similarly.First, the rosewood material is polished nicely, with the grain showing through beautifully. The gold colored bands on the cap and pen body add a nice touch as well. The pen is light, so posting is necessary, however the cap doesn't seat securely enough for this to occur. It basically means you're writing with a very light pen, which would require just a tad more pressure on the nib.The feed is plastic, as well as the threads on the feed. This is common, but then you run into the whole 'plastic threads into a metal barrel' thing. It's brand new for me, so there's no cracking or anything, but the threads themselves are already looking a little worn. The nib is iridium, also common, and the medium size runs average compared to other medium nib pens I own.Now for writing: I attempted to use a standard universal cartridge, and it would not seat at all. I had to write the company and ask, and was directed to buy their proprietary ink cartridges. It took about 3 days to get here (also standard), and the cartridges seated securely. However, it took a while before ink began to flow, even after running a bit of distilled water through the nib. Once it started, however, there was minimal skipping and it wrote smoothly. One gripe: it doesn't just pick up and start writing again. I've left it for a few hours and come back, and it took a few practice strokes before the ink started again. I'm chalking this up to minimal use.Overall, it's a gorgeous pen that fits my style; I like the wood grain bodies and Dryden Designs does a wonderful job of getting the wood grains to show through. The nib and feed quality is average for a starter pen; don't expect fantastic or luxurious trimming or designs in the nib. The color matching of the metal bands and the wood is even and consistent. I would recommend this pen as a collection piece, and if you have the patience to wait out the skipping, it's a light enough pen to be a daily use if you treat it right.I personally don't carry this one around with me every day; for that, I use a Waterman Carene Amber Shimmer (Fine Point; if you're interested, go look up a video review). It's worth it, but the pen is also more expensive.

Lovely inexpensive fountain pen
I'm very happy with this pen. The worst I can say about it is I've need to blow water through it with a syringe, once. It writes beautifully and is very comfortable to hold. The presentation box it came in is beautiful as well. The pen itself is very lovely. I don't leave the cap on it when I write as for me it would seem unbalanced, but I don't have very big hands. For the money I spent I couldn't be happier. I use it to journal and have a purple Pelikan ink in it. I like pretty, and it is.

Beautiful for the price, but doesn't write smooth
I guess I can't complain much. It's a beautiful pen, the case is a nice touch. But, it writes poorly. I have to hold the pen perfectly straight and apply more pressure that I should to get it to write. It is very rough when running along paper, even with heavy weight paper. Compared to my even cheaper fountain pen, this pen is like writing on sand paper as far as smoothness. I wanted to enjoy it, but I'll likely be returning it.

Outstanding Pen - Outstanding Company Support!!!
Pen is a pleasure to use. Elegant appearance and I feel it's a terrific value. I had a problem initially in getting the ink to flow easily, but turns out it was user error. When I contacted the company, the friendly customer service rep walked me through the solution, sent me a different ink cartridge and offered to take the pen back if I wasn't satisfied. I have purchased additional pens as gifts as a result of such a great product and even better service.

Just what I wanted!
I was frustrated with the amount waste associated with conventional ballpoint and gel pens (all that plastic going to the landfills), and decided to try a refillable fountain pen instead. I selected the Dryden rosewood pen, and have been delighted with the purchase! The pen is very pretty and comes in a nice wooden case. It writes smoothly, feels good in my hand (I have a small hand and the fit is perfect), and it fills very easily. I was so happy with it, that I bought a second one to use at work!
