Inexpensive and sturdy
I had initially ordered a little library that for some reason did not arrive (that one was hand made and looked nice on Amazon - and it's shipping time was a couple of weeks if I recall). This came as a kit, my kids helped place coats of polyurethane clear coat on the wood pieces before we built this (as a gift for their mom). Putting this together was easy, and it's stood up to a winter well (keeps stuff inside dry). It did not come with a post and did not have anywhere to screw in the post, so we had to make some modifications to the base to get it installed. Good value for money.

Blessing Box is perfect!
This was perfect for our needs to put a Blessing Box outside our church. Good quality. A bit small even though we ordered the largest size. We added the design on the side.

Well worth the convenience cost
We finally got a LFL put up because this was very easy to put together and install. The only downside was that the glass pane had plastic sheeting to protect the surface, which makes sense, but taking off the sheeting was a hassle. It seems the wood trim was installed around the glass and the sheeting extended under the wood pieces, so there was no way to easily get it off. The sheet also consisted of a regular peel-able plastic layer, and a weird crumbly brittle plastic layer. It made a huge mess, but the struggle was over before long.

You won't be disappointed!
This is easy to put together - with a second person! While it says you don't have to stain/weatherproof the wood, it looks much better when you do. It is very weather worthy. The roof over hangs a bit to offer added rain protection. It holds a lot of different sized books also. The optional mounting platform (cedar wood) is a very useful add on. It is a very sturdy library that should weather well. Great value for the money.

Poor quality wood, finish, and hardware.
Poor quality. The library box was installed less than three weeks ago. During assembly the screws would not hold in the wood. Meaning they would strip out. All of the hinges required woodglue in the screw holes for a firm attachment. Rust: The screws are showing signs of rust, and the hinges are also rusted. Finish quality: This box has poor-quality wood (will not support the screws). As shown in the photographs, the finish is degrading and peeling after three week exposure to the weather. We are highly disatisfied with the product. I will treat the metal with rust arrestor and either paint the box at the end of the season or replace it entirely. At this point my view is it will need to be replaced.

Not ready for the elements right out of the package.
Pros: Simple to assemble.Cons: Not weatherproof at all.We had to make some changes to get this thing up to snuff for the Pacific NW.1) I replaced all the hardware with non-rusting parts. I'm not sure if the screws/hinges they included would rust easily, but i wasn't going to take any chances, as they appeared very cheap.2) Applied clear caulk to all seams both inside and outside the library.3) Added weatherstripping to the inside of the doorway, and along one door (left side) down the middle.4) I added a sloped lip above the door to extend out and prevent water from running straight down into the seams. The roof overhang is NOT enough to prevent water from entering the door from above, especially in any sort of wind accompanying the rain.5) My wife also lightly sanded, primed, painted (cute woodland creature themed), and sealed with varnish. Not sure if that was necessary, but it sure made it cute.Time will tell if it stands up to the elements, as we are now in our spring/summer here and rain will be minimal for the next 3-4 months. Should it fail, and the books be destroyed, I will post an update.

Good library but some issue with assembly.
The good and bad of this library. The bad: the protective film on the acrylic is horrible. When you remove the last edge the entire film disintegrates and you get fibers all over the place. This is the worst film I’ve ever seen and should be avoided at all cost by the manufacturer. Make sure you do this part outside. The side screw holes are over bored so the screws are not tight enough to hold the box together. This is a flaw in the manufacturing. Use longer screws to solve the problem. The roof wasn’t on tight. It was very loose. New screws solved this problem. Do not buy this unit unless you have a way to replace all the screws they ship you for the outside with longer ones. I was fortunate to have the right size screws. Once they are replaced the box is nice and tight. I also suggest gluing it as well. The good: it’s the perfect size. The roof is a nice metal and I hope it will hold up to the UV of the sun. I’ll probably end up painting the metal. The wood is pretty light weight and needs to be painted and sealed with weather protection this is definitely a good first library. Hopefully I’ll get several years out of it.
