Excellent for children
This is an excellent book, spiral bound so it stays open easily at the pages you are looking at. There are clear colourful and fun illustrations and little puzzles.Children don't want to be blinded with science when learning chess but there are a few simple tips on what and what not to do in the opening. So many players - myself included - just learn the moves when they are young but have no real idea of what they are doing and then years later have to unlearn everything and get out of poor habits.I have seen other books that are far too dry and technical but this strikes the perfect balance between the basics and making learning chess fun.Highly recommended.

So glad I found this book
What an amazing book, great quality and rules are explained well and in a really fun way, love the illustrations as well. And it works for all ages! Bought 2 as Xmas presents; one for my 7 year old son and one for my mum and they both loved it!

Learn the fun of chess
Book explains chess in very easy terms with fun pictures to keep any young child’s attention. It arrived much earlier than anticipated. It is a little bit more used than described but I am sure it will still be very much enjoyed.

Good for total beginner. Teaches all the the basics moves
Great little book. Hard cover with binds. Easy to understand by 7 y.o.Book only includes basics moves and does not going deep in to gameplay. Wish there was little bit more about openings or closing (even simple one like how to mate by 2 X rooks. Or something like that.Saying that it had couple of useful tips .. mind will have to search for something more advance to progress.
