Fast and strong dye release. Must be very fresh. I loved it. As permanent as any Henna can be...I refer to TapDancing Lizard website to get most color and duration. Good Luck!

Q: How much henna do I need to color short hair? How much water do you add?

50-100 gms, for shoulder length I would recommend 100gms . I always like mixing henna with brewed tea or coffee instead of water. Mixing it with brewed coffee or tea adds a tint of color brown to your hair naturally. For 100 gms , 7-8oz should be okay.

The bag I received says NET 454 grams / 1lb. I didn't weigh it when I received it to see if that was accurate, but would assume it was about a pound.
