I’ve been using Shakespeare size 50 reels for my salt water surf and pier fishing since 2017. They work great. I’ve landed tons of huge fish with them. This size 60 is going on my 9’ surf rod. I can tell by the feel of it that it’s gonna work great. As with all my reels, I take them apart and lube them good with a premium silicone oil prior to use. These reels were already properly greased at the favtory but I did my usual service job anyway. I also run premium braid on these reels instead of mono.
