Simple and effective.
Place them in the freezer, wrap around your feet and ankle, then relax. The boots are well designed, fit nicely, and have strapping options to ensure good contact. When using hot and cold therapy to help healing, this is a no mess, simple option. Place a towel on the floor under your feet to catch any condensation, and you're good to go.

NEWGO Ice Pack for Ankle Injuries Two Pack
There are ice packs and there are ice packs. This is a professional kit with strong, durable, fabric-based icepacks, a much higher quality product than the plastic bags of gel types. The gel is more evenly distributed making the packs much more comfortable to wear. These are really easy to put on, simply insert foot into the pack and two wraps with a velcro strap, one round the ankle and one around the base of the foot. The straps are really easy to apply as a velcro patch at the end of the strap can be pinned to any other part of the strap, making them suitable for all sizes of feet and ankles. The instructions suggest 4h in the freezer before use, but I find it more convenient to freeze overnight, and remove for 30 mins prior to use. For hot application, they are to be placed in a microwave for 1 minute although I found an extra 20 seconds was required.Having used cheaper ice packs designed for general use on the foot, I can say that it is SO much better using ones designed specifically for the foot. Thankfully I don't suffer from many feet problems, but I know what I will reach for the next time I sprain an ankle.
