I give the author Josephine C M Faal 5 solid stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on a such a brilliantly written book👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 It’s been a while since I bought a book to read and I actually got captivated by it. This book hit different, my eyes were literally glued to it from the first page to the last! The grammar and choice of words sound like sweet music to one’s ears and it’s a melody that you wish to keep going on and on! The storyline brings out some real life unspoken truths that are woven into our societies, cultures and basic daily lives; that we would rather just accept and call it life! Each chapter is exceptionally connected to the next and to the next in such a mesmerizing way. Get your copy now and enjoy a great read….I look forward to reading more of her books!!!

Captivating, couldn't put it down once I started reading...

“My Mother’s Son” is a must-read that brings to life an untimely event in the unassuming life of Andrew an only son. Set in the backdrop of laid-back Lusaka, Zambia, it gives the reader an insight to how Andrew, the main character, attempts to solve the quandary he is in without having to disappoint neither his doting mother, April, nor his girlfriend Dailess. As the story unfolds, Zambian readers might find themselves having to pick a side to support or better still, torn between both sides depending on their life experience. For readers without exposure to Zambia, the book gives an idea of the culture, challenges and nuances of life in Zambia based on social status of the haves and have-nots. The story line is racy, full of suspense and gripping, making it difficult to put the book down till one gets done. I had to grudgingly resist myself from falling into this trap and resorted to savour the reading and prolong it to at least three days. The end leaves one wondering what becomes of Andrew’s life. Has he learnt his lessons and is now savvy in judging characters? Or is he still gullible? What about his girlfriend Dailess and their baby? The ending screams for a sequel. Best to watch out for the author, Josephine C M Faal!
