Swanson P-5-P (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) Coenzymated Vitaminb-6 20 Milligrams 60 Capsules (1 Pack)

First, I have purchased Swanson supplements for more than several decades. Happy that Swanson products are available on Amazon! I needed a B-6 supplement and after taking pyridoxine for 20 years, this, more active form, became available. Since it was a Swansons supplement, I trusted that it was of high quality. Small capsule, easy to swallow. No taste or smell.

The label is too similar to your Swanson R-5-P (Riboflavin-5-Phosphate) - Vitamin B2( which I order often). I order this P-5-P (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) one incorrectly. State clearer B2 or B6 on the label helpful for seniors

I did an Organic Acids Test (OAT) at my doctor's suggestion. This test showed that my B6 levels were very low and the metabolites of serotonin and norepinephrine were both very low (dopamine metabolites normal though) and I had slightly elevated oxalates. The serotonin, norepinephrine and the oxalates can all be related to B6 deficiency. After a couple of weeks of adding P5P to a regimen that had already included many vitamins including B vitamins (but no B6) I noticed a big change for the better and continue to maintain this change . I had very little ambition to get anything accomplished. Certain tasks still bore me to death but in general, I am working longer and getting much more accomplished. P5P has definitely cured me of the sitting around not wanting to do anything type of depression. I am now writing daily to-do lists, and gettting things done around here. I have not remeasured the oxalates to see if P5P has helped in that department or not.

Swanson makes high quality products but unfortunately synthetic B vitamins cause some to have nerve irritation.

I have been taking P-5-P for years. I have tried several different brands. The NOW brand usually has the best price. I find it to be excellent.
