This book is a great way to add different meals and ingredients to your weekly rotation, great inspiration! And I love seeing Gus in the book too, a perfect first release! Congrats Hailee!! Review: The new go-to cookbook on my shelf - I’ve been a fan and follower of Hailee Catalano through her blog/Instagram for years. Every single recipe of hers I’ve made has been delicious, approachable and comforting. Truly, she’s the only food influencer who I trust to deliver every single time. So when I saw this book was coming out, I preordered immediately - it was a no-brainer. By Heart is exactly what I expected, in the BEST way. So many fantastic recipes, helpful tips and gorgeous art and photography. I’ve made five recipes so far and all of them have been delicious (the Cannoli Crunch Ice Cream Cake and Mushy Pea Pasta Salad are highlights for me). I love the tone of voice in Hailee’s narration of her videos and it absolutely comes through in print. And the introduction is so heartfelt and genuine, it’s a must-read. I can’t wait to cook through the rest of this book.

A must have cook book!
I absolutely love By Heart by Hailee Catalano. Her recipes are the perfect balance of simple and delicious—ideal for a home cook like myself. The instructions are clear, the ingredients are accessible, and every dish I’ve tried so far has been a hit with my family. I’ve found myself coming back to this book again and again, whether I need a quick weeknight dinner or something a little more special. It truly feels like cooking from the heart, and I appreciate how approachable and thoughtfully crafted each recipe is. Highly recommend to anyone who loves to cook and feed the people they love!

You can be a chef by reading this book!
I had been highly anticipating the arrival of the cookbook and it did not disappoint! The structure and quality of the book is well made, as well as the high definition photography throughout it. As someone that is more of a visual learner, reading through Hailee’s recipes that give step by step instruction makes it easy to follow and understand. Her creativity and genuine love for making food is shown throughout her recipes and gives us readers a glimpse as to why she cooks with such delight. I loved reading how her family and life experiences have shaped who she has become today and how the recipes have come about with the help of her traditions as a child and life as an adult. This book shows simple yet elegant recipes that will be a staple in my kitchen for years to come!

Bravo! This one’s a keeper
Wow, this cookbook impressed me. As a self proclaimed cookbook addict, I’m usually bored by how repetitive and basic most recipes feel. By Heart is different. I started bookmarking recipes and had to stop because I honestly want to cook the entire book. Every recipe feels thoughtful, fresh, and exciting. Bravo, Hailee Catalano. This one’s a keeper.

Great flavor combos, excellent technique, easy to follow
I’m a big fan of Hailee’s recipes and cook whatever she shares when I get a chance; as a fan of her personality as well, this book is a slam dunk. I can hear hailee’s voice in my head when I read the recipe descriptions! I got the book yesterday and have already made the spicy carrot rigatoni and the mustardy herb buttered potatoes; both a slam friggen dunk. Buy this book and get better at cooking. Thanks Hailee!

Just not for me
Well written with lots of recipes. But….I am glad I ordered this as a gift, as I would never try any of the recipes.

Beautiful, Fresh and Balanced Creative Classics
I am a total apostle of Ms. Catalano already, and was so excited to pre-order this cookbook! Having now read it cover to cover, I am so excited to try some of her recipes. First up will be the Mushy Pea Pasta Salad as I was asked to bring a pasta salad to a family gathering this weekend to accompany a ham. My husband is THRILLED by the prevalence of anchovies in many recipes, and reading Chef Hailee’s notes about her chaotic family gatherings took me right back to my childhood and grandmother’s Sunday cooking. The ode to Tina was a beautiful touch and I cannot wait to attempt her gravy. In addition to the fresh and easy to follow recipes (can’t wait to try the shallow halibut), this is a visually stunning cookbook - as one would expect from Ms. Catalano! Congratulations on this masterpiece! UPDATE: I made the mushy pea pasta salad. That is not A pasta salad, that is THE PASTA SALAD. It is gorgeous to serve, easy to make, and was perfectly delicious. The olives and lemon move it into solid pasta salad territory while the rest of the ingredients act like a beautifully-composed crunchy, herby salad. I doubled the recipe and everyone loved it! That one will be my go-to for any occasion where I’m asked to bring a pretty green side. Thanks, Hailee!
