Moultrie highest quality trail cameras.
I bought two Moultrie Edge Pro 2 Cellular Trail cameras last summer for deer season and its one of the best purchases I've ever bought and I'll never buy anything other than Moultrie ever again. You cant beat the crystal clear picture and video taking abilities that they have. The night vision is second to none. It takes the absolute clearest night time pictures of any camera Ive ever seen even in the snow and rain. I especially like how you can set the camera up just the way you want it as far as picture taking. Ive had excellent signal no matter where I've placed mine as well. The sound quality is unbeatable as well. When my friends, family, or anyone I meet asks me what trail cam I recommend I tell them Moultrie every time. If you buy one I promise you, you won't want any other brand ever again.

Reliable and Feature-Rich Cellular Trail Camera for Hunting
I recently received this trail camera and was pleasantly surprised by how easy the setup process was. It comes with a strap that allows you to securely mount the camera around a tree, and there are multiple mounting options available depending on your needs. To power the camera, you need at least 8 AA batteries, which is the minimum required to get it running. However, if you use 16 AA batteries, the camera will last significantly longer without needing a battery change. Additionally, it supports a 12V power input if you have a solar panel or another external power source, though in a hunting environment, such a setup might be rare. This is a cellular trail camera, meaning it connects via the cellular network on its own — no SIM card insertion or manual network setup required. It automatically finds the best available signal in your area. To get started, simply download the companion app, create an account, and scan the QR code on the camera to link it. Keep in mind, a subscription is required to use this camera. The most basic plan is $9.99/month and includes 1,000 photos and 10 videos. You can purchase additional media separately or opt for a higher-tier unlimited plan. Annual plans also come with discounts. These are the current prices, so they might change in the future. The camera has excellent specs: 36MP photo resolution and 1080p Full HD video. Each video clip is 15 seconds long, and the motion detection works up to 100 feet. Detection performance can vary based on how the camera is positioned, so placement matters. This camera is essentially a smart photo trap and a great tool for hunters. Beyond just capturing photos and videos, it offers extra features through the app, such as deer movement prediction, wind forecasting, and more — though these features may require additional paid upgrades. Overall, if you're into hunting and want to monitor wildlife movement remotely, this camera is a fantastic addition to your gear.

Stopped detecting animals after 25 days, now past Amazon return window. Moultrie refuses replacement
I really wanted to love these cameras. The first few weeks the defective one actually worked great – it was catching deer, coyotes, everything. I was thrilled. Then around day 25 the motion detection stopped working correctly on animals. Proof from this morning (Time-Lapse + Motion Detection explicitly ON, 10-min intervals, motion toggle ON). I had to set the camera to a schedule to take a picture every 10 minutes (though motion detection should have worked between the intervals) to prove it wasn't working (see attached pictures): 6:30 AM – coyote (no pictures of it walking in) 6:40 AM – same coyote still there – ZERO extra photos 7:10 AM – spike buck (no pictures of it walking in) 7:20 AM – same spike still feeding – ZERO extra photos Four perfectly timed scheduled shots and not one single instant animal trigger in over 20 minutes of activity. It will still trigger when I walk in front of it (human heat signature is apparently different enough), but it is now completely blind to wildlife. By the time I realized something was wrong and went through all their troubleshooting (sensitivity High, battery pulls, firmware updates, fresh batteries, different locations – everything, multiple times), the Amazon 30-day return window had closed. This appears to be a widespread, years-long problem with the Edge series. Reddit (r/Hunting, r/bowhunting, r/Trailcam), Rokslide, and hunting forums are packed with similar stories. The front-line support people are genuinely nice and polite, but company policy clearly forbids them from helping. After sending timestamped proof, settings screenshots, and a list of everything I’d already tried, their final suggestion was to “bring it inside and test it live in your living room.” I asked how that proves anything when it already triggers on me but ignores animals in the field – crickets, just another script. They won’t replace it and won’t even credit the $16.99/month cellular plan while I own a broken camera. It’s exactly like dealing with an insurance company that will do anything to avoid paying a valid claim. Look elsewhere. I’ve owned Covert cameras – real defect? They shipped a replacement the same week, no nonsense. Save yourself the headache and the money. One star only because Amazon won’t let me leave zero.

Trail battery powered waterproof cameras
I bought this as a gift for my husband, who loves watching wildlife, and it has been such a great choice. We have family in Brazil who live in the countryside, and one of our biggest wishes was to be able to capture some amazing images of the wildlife around them — especially the bugio (howler) monkeys and even jaguars that sometimes pass through. The camera works beautifully for this purpose. We set it up as a test, it was really easy to set it up. The image quality is crystal clear, and the night vision has been surprisingly sharp. The motion detection was fest to action. My husband has been thrilled setting it up, and it’s given us the chance to feel more connected to nature even from far away. It’s not just a gift — it’s a way to create memories and share the beauty of wildlife with our whole family. I just need to mention here that it takes 16x AA batteries per camera, and you also need a membership to connect the device with the app. But totally worth it. For power you can also purchase separately the solar panels. There is a port for it on the bottom of the camera.

Good value for the money
The cameras work great and camera quality is very good with sound quality as good also. I gave 4 stars and considered 3 due to the delay of my shipment , was delayed 3-4 weeks past due date which was a Xmas gift. This was not Amazons fault.

Upgrade from Edge-NW version
These Edge 2 cameras are an upgrade from the Edge cameras I purchased 2yrs ago. There's a lot to like here: On demand photos/videos (not live view), much sharper photos/videos, range seems to exceed BIGLY the old Edge cam I have. You can integrate your Moultrie app with the OnX Hunt app - it will pull over photos and cameras, and update daily. I've attached a brief video from during the day and a photo in the dark showing the range for the same location (it will only allow me to add 1 video). In both, the deer are up on a ridge (watch dead center of video) where I typically park. In the photo, they have come down the ridge slightly from in the video, but are still 33-35yds from the camera. In the video, there is a doe followed by a young buck (spike or very few tines). This camera is about 45-50 yards from where the deer are on that ridge. It's much easier to see on a large computer monitor than on my phone app, but still VERY clear on the phone. Everyone I've shown the video to (we're all excited because the bucks are finally starting to get after the does, which means the rut is beginning) has asked what kind of cameras are giving me this kind of clarity. These folks all have "fancy pants" cameras that cost a fortune and are shocked their brands don't do as well. I do have a little bit of a concern. After almost 6 weeks I had to replace batteries (that's good). Upon opening the control panel, there was not just condensation, but a whole lot of water in the compartment. I'm also finding the lenses tend to fog up, depending on how soon after sundown the camera is triggered. I've only had the fog thing happen twice, and I've only had to replace batteries once since installing the cameras, so I'll post an update on both the fog and condensation when I have to replace the batteries again. Unfortunately, the batteries I just replaced aren't lasting as long as they did last time because it's getting colder. I just replaced them 2 days ago and they're already losing power. It's a 3 hour drive, so I guess I'll just have to go up and hunt again! ;) For those wondering, the cellular package I have is approximately 9.00 per camera + tax. There doesn't seem to be a discount for more than one camera. I have 3 out there and my monthly charge is 29.97 with just the basic package (10 videos, 1000 photos per month). My plan is due to renew tomorrow. Camera 1 is at my popup, gets the least hits and is at 94 photos. Camera 2 gets the next and is at 305 photos. Camera 3 always gets the most shots and is at 325 photos, so 1000 photos is really plenty for most folks not hunting in front of a feeder. I almost always use up all the videos per month, so have to only request those that are most interesting. Any unused photos/videos do NOT carry over. PS. Did you know deer pee in the woods like a female dog? I didn't!!! Lean something new every day! LOL

Great for hunting or security
While this trail camera is meant for hunting and trails, it also has other use cases too! We will be using ours at a business we own to monitor the grounds and make sure that people aren’t coming onto the property. It was very easy to set up using the instructions that came in the box. The biggest downfall is that it takes 16 batteries, but it does work with just 8 as well. I would recommend putting one good set of rechargeable batteries in it. Once you receive it you can set it up using the QR code and app. You do need to purchase a subscription service plan to get any information or images. There are a couple different plan options. After that you’re all set. It works by connecting to your phone and sends you images or activity that it caught. The images are color accurate and it has good night vision. Thankfully we haven’t had much action in the area other than ourselves caught on it. Based on us going in front of it, it seems that the sensitivity is accurate too. So far I’m happy with the quality and the overall look of the camera. I did move it after this image to make it blend in a little more with the surroundings.

Good bang for your buck
I've had them out most of the year and they worked great. No issues. Picture quality is very good and it's fun to get pics over your cell phone. Also some nice features in the app where it separates bucks from does. You can also put alerts for other animals or people easily. They take 16 AA batteries each and last about 2.5 months if it's not below zero.
