The Kinivo USB Bluetooth Adapter (BTD530) is a reliable and affordable solution for adding Bluetooth functionality to older PCs. I used it to bring an outdated desktop back to life for a project, and it worked flawlessly. The setup was straightforward, with the adapter offering compatibility with Windows 8, 10, and 11 (driver installation required for some versions). The Bluetooth 5.3 technology provides fast, stable connections with a range of up to 20 feet, which was more than adequate for my needs. At just $12.99, this adapter is an excellent value for connecting devices like headsets, keyboards, and printers. Its compact design and plug-and-play functionality for Windows 8 make it user-friendly. While it may not work with all TWS earbuds, it handles most common peripherals seamlessly. For anyone looking to revive an older PC or add Bluetooth connectivity to a desktop, this device is a highly recommended, no-fuss solution.

I have a small PC with an AMD APU running Steam OS. For whatever reason, the internal Bluetooth module stopped working. I think it was a driver issue after updating to the latest Steam OS. I use an Xbox Series controller with my micro PC and I couldn't get it to work due to the failed internal Bluetooth. I picked this up and plugged it into one of my PC's USB ports. Steam OS immediately detected it without issues and I could pair my Xbox controller. I haven't noticed any signal dropouts or latency issues when sitting about 6-7ft away. The adapter is on the back of my PC facing away from me. My PC has a front-facing USB port, but I wanted to keep the front clean. This has been a solid yet inexpensive method for adding Bluetooth back to my PC. Range seems fine and it automatically started working without anything on my end. This is easy to recommend.

I obtained this device based on the use of the term 'Receiver' in the description. I'm not very experienced with bluetooth dongles as most of my networked equipment has BT installed as native functionality. I wanted to use this as a receiver for a speaker that has a usb power port but no bluetooth function. Fairly quickly I realized there is no on/off switch or any way to put the dongle into pairing mode. Even when plugged into a usb slot on my laptop I can't see it as a BT device. I'm now concluding it is a transmitter that is always on, always able to be paired, but not a receiver so it's not serving my purpose. I'll give it 5 stars as this seems to be buyer error, and it may do what it is intended to do very well.

Oddly, I needed this to review a different product, which was a bluetooth device that didn't come with a bluetooth adapter. The device wasn't the greatest, but plugging this into my computer and getting the device to sync was completely hassle free! Plus, it's nice to have a simple universal receiver for a home-built PC, as most motherboards (that I've owned, at least) don't come with one. I'm not sure how well it works on other devices, but for a Windows PC, I have no complaints.
