Ok for beginner or intermediate level home workouts. Not perfect though.
Before we go begin I should say I'm returning to lifting weights again after several years of illness. I'm basically having to start again from scratch, very slowly. Painfully slowly actually, but I'll get there. I still have stitches though so for now it's just little by little, getting back some strength.I wanted a simple weight bench. I donated my old one to charity a few years ago thinking I'd not be able to even start training again. There were times when it was debatable whether or not I'd still be around. So I don't need the same level of gear that I once had. This seemed to fit the bill for my purposes, but I'll admit I was somewhat deterred by the negative reviews.Having received it today, built it and used it I have to say that it isn't bad. I didn't get any damaged parts upon arrival. Assembling it took about 30 minutes. It's far easier if you have a socket set or even an impact driver (just be sure not to over tighten everything if you use either). I'd suggest you get the main H-frame constructed first, then the leg on the bench at the other end, then marry them up together. Leave everything just finger-tight until you have it assembled, then go around and tighten everything down to a sensible degree. The coach bolts have a square taper at one end. These marry up to the square holes punched into the frame. Do not use the cylindrical bolts in this holes. Take your time and you'll be fine. If you get stuck, go and have a brew, then come back to it with a fresh head, glance at the instructions and have another go. Get it right, first time and save yourself a headache.I'm currently lifting pathetically small amount of weight compared to what I'm used to. That will change in the coming months hopefully, but I don't really see why this can't cope with perhaps an 80-100kg bar, if used sensibly. It's not premium grade or professional quality so it needs to be treated with a little common sense and respect.Overall I'm actually quite happy with it for the time being. It's fairly sturdy, but I admit it does rattle a bit if you slam the bars down on it.None of this means it isn't without it's bad points though.I agree with other reviews that the bars are quite close together, about the same distance as most folk's arms would be actually. I have broad shoulders so I have no issue with reaching outside of the bars, but you might. The dip bars are next to useless for me. The bar-catch mouth is situated far too close for comfort and the entire thing feels unbalanced when you put your weight onto them. The supporting legs would need to be much wider to offer a secure base. The dumb bell rack can interfere when I'm bench pressing too. My arms only just glance them but it's a little annoying. It claims to be able to be used as a squat rack. I'm over 6" (187cm) and there is no way I could use this as a squat rack. That's ok for me right now because I'm just working upper body, but you should be aware of it.The above seems like a lot of negative points. The truth is, overall, I'm fairly happy with it for now. It's more solid than some of the other reviews led me to believe. It's comfortable. I don't doubt that for a serious, or even semi-serious user this might not be up to the task. For me, for now, it's fine.Oh I don't detect any disinfectant smell from it at all like some other reviews say. Conclusion : It's not bad. Best suited to a beginner or intermediate level. Has some drawbacks but it's most likely going to at this price of £62.I've included some photos. Ignore the state of the room, it is being used exclusively as a box room because I'm about to move, hence to stockpiling of boxes ready for packing. Also the decal on the bench is not standard, but it's a nod to how far I have to go to get back some strength again. I'll likely never get to same level as before ... but serious ill health with do that to you. Stay healthy folks and do what you can, when you can.

Various pros and cons to this.Pros: so far it's held up without breaking benching (though I am still wondering whether I trust the dip bars, each time I do them it's worrying). The dip bars are also quite close to the bar rests which adds to the worry around using them (close to / touching wrists).Cons: Tools, screws, and pins are sub-par at best, the holes for the pins should not have passed quality control as the main hole to fit the pin on the 'adjustable' leg doesn't fit. I tried all available pins and none were of the correct size for this, the only one suitable for it barely fitted in using a rubber mallet and sure as hell won't come back out.. Meaning it's not adjustable. The dip bar puts your balance ability up against the non-locking area under the bar rests, meaning the whole area occasionally sways violently. This can be easily solved with a longer footprint, though this seems to be a standard copy of a cheap bench found everywhere and I fear they have not practically tested this. The 'squat rack' is impossible and quite frankly dangerous to use, it's FAR too low to put the bar back on if you can get it off the bar in the first place and the bar rests are far from ideal when squatting. Though they are a good angle for putting the bar back after benching. In summary, I bought this as a temporary bench before I get a new squat/power rack and it is fine for careful use of < 90kg benches. The materials, tools, fittings, and design are awful and barely worth the cost, various dents, damaged parts, and broken plastic end caps mean a disappointing unboxing. This could have been a great bench with proper design, engineering, and safety features added.. Though, I would strongly suggest they get the quality control ironed out asap.
